Y/N knew that she wouldn't find out if she passed the Profiler Exam for a while. If she passed, she'd go from being just Agent Y/L/N, to becoming Special Agent Y/L/N.

She couldn't help but check her emails. Whenever she wasn't focusing on paperwork, or a new case, she would lightly press her finger onto her screen, pulling it down so she could refresh her emails. She didn't know how long it took for a response. Prentiss said that her passing grade was released 2 days after she took the test. Derek said that his passing grade was released the day of, but late at night. She was nervous about passing, but it wasn't like she'd be kicked out of the BAU if she didn't pass.

Whatever the case was, she couldn't focus on her grade. She had to distract herself in order to calm herself down. So that's what she did. The day after she sat for the exam, having not received her grade yet, a case appeared and Hotch called the entire team into the conference room.

"Okay, crime fighters. We're dealing with a doozy. In Memphis, Tennessee, the bodies - well, body parts - of 3 women were found scattered around the Mud Island Park at 11:30 PM, last night. The victims, Sierra Mullins- 24, Cassandra Tyler- 25, and Danielle Masters- 24, all identified by their arms and hands." Penelope explained, putting up three pictures of 3 different women. Both Cassandra and Danielle were white women, and Sierra was black.

Sierra had long raven hair that was slightly frizzy. Her eyes were navy blue and she wore the bare minimum makeup. Cassandra had light brown hair that was tightly pulled back into a ponytail. She had emerald green eyes and braces. Danielle had blonde hair that flowed neatly down her back and brown eyes.

"Any similarities between them?" Y/N asked, confused.

"Only one thing seemed to be consistent in this case. All three women attended Memphis Public High School." Penelope exhaled.

"Their dismembered body parts were found - luckily and unluckily being the arms and hands of the victims. What the M.E. identified was that the women were tied up or bound, but their hands weren't affected in any way. They managed to pull finger prints on all three victims and identify them." Penelope nodded.

"Have the rest of the body parts been found?" Prentiss questioned, confused.

"Police have been searching the entire park and haven't yet found the rest of the women's bodies. They're certain that if their hands were dumped in the park, their bodies would be too." Penelope shook her head.

"In reality, it's possible that the unsub still has the other body parts in his possession. We could also be looking at someone who only dismembered the arms - and in turn hands - from the otherwise whole body." Spencer explained.

"Are there any witnesses?" Derek asked.

"Security cameras seemingly show Sierra being lured away from her car that was parked outside a café, 2 weeks ago. Danielle's friend Cara said that 1 week ago, she was walking with Danielle down an alleyway, both of them on their way home from the gym, but received a phone call from her brother and when she turned around, Danielle was gone. 1 week ago, Cassandra's boyfriend Peter said that he was supposed to be meeting her for lunch, but she never showed up. He tracked her location and found her phone smashed on the ground outside her home." Penelope pulled up pictures of Cara and Peter.

"So we have an unsub who doesn't care about race. This unsub possibly follows their victims, watching their every move. The unsub then abducts them in broad daylight, but in Sierra's case, uses a ruse. For 1 to 2 weeks, the unsub holds their victim before dismembering their arms - and in turn hands. Their dismembered body part is then dumped in a public place." Rossi suggested a possible scenario.

"Was the dismemberment post or antemortem?" Y/N asked, concerned.

"The M.E. distinguished that all three victims died of blood loss, which would make-" Penelope tired to prevent herself from vomiting.

"-the dismemberment antemortem. The three women were alive when they were being dismembered." Y/N groaned, clearly grossed out.

"Memphis P.D. are expecting us tomorrow, so wheels up in 20." Hotch instructed, standing up.

(2 Days Later)

The BAU weren't any closer to solving the investigation. All they had identified was that Sierra and Danielle were right-handed, while Cassandra was left-handed, which explained why the police had identified the right hands of Sierra and Danielle and the left hand of Cassandra. The team had also looked into their school lives. None of them stuck out, at least, not academically.

Apart from that information, no leads had come up, no new information had surfaced. Even Penelope was coming up blank.

"Garcia, can you put aside their academic records and focus on detentions, rivalries, possible incidents that occurred in the lives of the three victims?" Y/N asked, talking to Penelope, who had voiced her anger with the lack of information popping up.

"I'll hit you back with everything ASAP." Penelope exclaimed before ending the call.

Within minutes, Y/N felt her phone buzzing. At first, she believed that Penelope was calling her.

"Wow. She's quick." Y/N chuckled to Spencer, who agreed with her.

But her chuckles quickly disappeared when it wasn't Penelope's name on her screen, instead, an email notification. She felt her whole body freeze. Her eyes were glued to her phone screen and her phone was clearly shaking in her hand.

"Y/N, what's up?" You heard Spencer's voice ringing in your ear, but you didn't move. You couldn't move. Whether it was fear, or worry, or nerves, Y/N didn't know. All she knew is that she wanted so badly to be a profiler, that she didn't want to open the email and possibly be rejected.

"Y/N." Spencer tapped her on her shoulder. She flinched, clearly having snapped out of whatever fear or worry she had been feeling.

"Y/N, what's up? Is everything okay?" Spencer asked.

"The email. It's from the Bureau." She pushed her phone toward him, seeing the excitement on his face.

"Would you like me to read it?" He asked, seeing her nod. He took her phone in his hand and watched as she closed her eyes, not wanting to see his physical response.

A minute passed. She knew he could read fast, so when she felt her phone being put into her hand, she knew that he had read it.

"Hotch, Derek, JJ!" He called out to the team, causing Y/N's eyes to widen.

"Spencer, no. I don't want the whole team to know that I possibly failed." Y/N shook her head.

Spencer stood up and wrapped his arm around Y/N's lower torso as everyone gathered around in the conference room, the door now shut. Everyone looked at the pair in confusion.

"Y/N got her results back from the Bureau." Spencer smiled. Prentiss, JJ and Derek's faces lit up when they saw the huge smile on his face.

"I'd like to introduce to the team, our newest profiler, Special Agent Y/N Y/L/N!" Spencer cheered, everyone smiling and congratulating her.

"I- I passed? I'm an official profiler now?" Y/N was in awe. She couldn't believe it.

"Congrats, Y/N!" Hotch shook her hand and Rossi gently held her head and kissed both her cheeks.

"Shoot, I gotta tell Penelope." Y/N exhaled.

"You can do that when we get back." Hotch nodded.

"Well, at least we have some good news. From the look of this case, good news is exactly what we needed." Derek smiled.
