I'm hardly surprised when Ryker doesn't show up for dinner. In fact, I almost anticipated his absence, perhaps because when I left him a voice message inviting him to discuss over dinner, his response was merely a curt text with a single word: "Fine."

Having anticipated Ryker's absence, I had asked Emma to join me for the evening, and I was grateful that she accepted.

As the restaurant's low hum continued in the background, Emma turned to me and asked, "So, what's going on? Do you want to talk about it?" Setting down her glass of wine on the table, she looked at me with a mix of concern and curiosity.

I took a deep breath and smiled at Emma, trying to push away the irritation I felt towards Ryker, or the lack it, as I wasn't sure if I was more irritated or upset. As much as I wanted to scream at my son for his lack of presence, I knew that it wouldn't solve anything. Instead, I decided to enjoy the evening with Emma, the stunning woman who sat across from me.

"I appreciate your concern, Emma," I said, tracing the rim of my wine glass with my finger. "It's just a personal matter concerning my son. We are not...we are not on good terms."

Emma reached out to me, her hand squeezing mine. "I'm here for you, Carl. You can tell me anything you want. You know I won't ever judge you. You're a good person and if there's anything I can do, please just say it."

I let out a sigh, grateful for Emma's understanding and support. "Thank you, Emma. It means a lot to me. But I'm afraid this is something I have to deal with on my own. It's just a complicated situation, and I'm not sure how to fix it."

I could feel the weight of my problems bearing down on me, and I couldn't help but wonder if I had made the right choices in life. Well, maybe not all. But pushing Ryker away had to be the worst of all. He was my son, and I should have been there for him.

I took a sip of my wine, hoping to ease my mind. "But enough about my troubles," I said, giving Emma a small smile. "I'm here with a beautiful woman, enjoying a lovely evening. Let's not waste it on my problems."

Emma looked unsure, probably not wanting me to avoid the subject. But as I said, she was a smart woman, so instead of forcing me to talk more about it, she smiled at me and gave me a slow nod. "Sure. If that's what you want."

I took another sip of my wine, relishing its deep, rich flavor. The liquid warmth spread through me, but it did little to ease the knots in my stomach. Emma's concern was touching, but I wasn't used to opening up about my problems. I had always been the one in control, the one who held the reins of my life. And yet, here I was, feeling like I had lost my grip.

I gave her a small smile and leaned in a bit closer. "You know, Emma, I don't think I've ever met anyone quite like you. You have this way of making everything feel more... alive. More real." I gestured to the restaurant around us, the soft chatter and the clink of glasses. "It's like you bring a little bit of magic into everything you do."

Emma blushed, her lips spreading in a beautiful smile. "Now you're just exaggerating."

With a chuckle, I shook my head. "No, I'm serious. You have this energy about you that's contagious. I can't help but feel invigorated when I'm around you."

Emma's eyes sparkled, and she leaned in closer to me, her voice low and flirtatious. "Is that so, Carlos? And what else do you feel when you're around me?"

I arched my brow, feeling a rush of heat at her boldness. "Well, if we're being honest, Emma, I feel like I'm always walking on thin ice with you. You have a way of making me want to take risks and push boundaries."

Emma's fingers interlaced with mine, sending an electric shock through my body. "I like the sound of that, Carlos," she said teasingly, and I could feel my pulse quicken. "Do you have any plans for pushing boundaries tonight?"

Her words sent my mind racing, and I couldn't help but imagine all the ways we could push those boundaries. As much as I wanted to give in to my desires and take her home, I knew I had to be cautious. After all, I couldn't risk jeopardizing my relationship with Ryker any further, even if he had no right to judge my personal life.

"I must say, Emma, you are truly one of a kind," I whispered softly to her, taking her hand and placing a tender kiss on her fingers. "You have the ability to make any man the happiest he's ever been."

Emma's lips curled into a seductive smile, and she nibbled on her bottom lip. "Well, right now, there's only one man I want to make happy," she purred, sending shivers down my spine.

It could have been my weakness for her, or maybe I had grown a little reckless with age, but before I knew it, Emma was straddling my lap in the backseat of my car, kissing me with such ferocity that it took my breath away. Her lips were hot and insistent against mine, her hands roaming wildly over my body as I grasped at her waist, pulling her closer to me.

I buried my face in her neck, sucking and nibbling on her skin as she gasped and moaned, her fingers tangling in my shirt. "Oh, Carl, you feel so fucking good," she breathed, throwing her head back in ecstasy.

In that moment, all thoughts of Ryker and the consequences of my actions were forgotten. All that mattered was the heat between us, the urgent need to feel each other's bodies, and the wild abandon of passion that consumed us both.

I let out a deep, guttural moan at her words, the sound echoing through the car. Emma had a way of bringing out the animal in me, and I was lost in the heat of the moment. My hands roamed greedily over her body, exploring every inch of her curves.

"God, Emma," I murmured against her skin, my voice thick with desire. "I've been thinking about this all night."

Her only response was a breathy moan, and I could feel her body shiver with pleasure as she pulled me closer, her fingers tangling in my hair. I couldn't get enough of her taste, her scent, the way she felt in my arms. The air in the car was thick with the scent of sex and sweat as we moved together, lost in our own world of pleasure.

By the time the car came to a halt, we were both panting and huffing, trying to catch our breath. I couldn't believe how much I wanted her, how much I needed her. But Emma wasn't done with me, and neither was I with her.

Taking my hand, Emma led me to her apartment and unlocked the door, letting me in first. The room was dimly lit, and the smell of vanilla candles filled the air, heightening my senses. As I turned to face her, she pushed me against the wall, her body pressing into mine with an urgency that sent shivers down my spine.

I could see the hunger in her eyes, and as her lips met mine again, the taste of her lips sent a jolt of electricity through me. We kissed slowly, savoring each other's warmth, and I could feel her hands roaming all over my body, tracing every curve and every muscle. I pulled her closer, pressing her against me, and she responded with a deep, throaty moan that sent my heart racing.

Her fingers trailed down my torso, igniting every nerve ending in their wake. The sensation was electrifying, and I could feel myself growing harder by the second. Emma's eyes darted toward my crotch, and her lips parted in anticipation. She knew exactly what she was doing to me.

Her lips made their way down to my neck, planting kisses with such tenderness that I felt like I was melting into her. Her hands moved lower, tracing the outline of my waistband, and I could feel myself hardening with desire. It was as if every touch of hers was magnified, sending shockwaves through my body.

"I want you, Carl," she breathed, her voice husky with desire. "Please take me. Take me hard." My response was a low growl of pleasure. As she looked up at me with a wicked gleam in her eye, I knew that there was no going back.
