This shit's embarrassing

Thoughts raced through your mind as you got ready for your hangout. You were nervous and excited, even though the two of you had hung out before this one made it sound like a sort of date. Although you didn't want to get your hopes up too much, rejection still plaguing your brain. For now, you just decided to accept it for what it is, a celebration of you getting your license. You grabbed an oversized t-shirt with jeans and converse, you did the hack with the t-shirt and the hair tie to fix the size. You grabbed a necklace and a couple rings, and you were making your way out of your basement bedroom. 

10 minutes later Law showed up with his jeep, however you got absorbed into a CSI episode and didn't notice Laws text. Or when he knocked on the door. Or when he entered your home. Or even when he snuck up behind you.

In fact you didn't notice until he spoke, "So your one of those girls huh?" he said sarcastically.

However, you didn't realize it was him at first, so you screamed. And fell off the sofa. Which made him laugh and made you turn bright red out of embarrassment. "For your information, yes I am one of those girls who listens to true crime podcasts a little too often." You paused for a moment, "Also how the hell did you get into my house".

"Well first of all you didn't respond when I texted, or knocked and the door was unlocked. You really should lock your door when your alone stupid"

You sighed, "usually I do lock the door" 

He just shrugged his shoulders in response. "So you want to go get ice cream now?"

"Do you even need to ask?"

He smiled slightly before making his way to the door, but just as he got there with you following he paused. "So can we talk more about you getting so absorbed into CSI that you ignored everything else?"

"NO!" you yelled.

However, this did not work, he interrogated you on the way there embarrassing you even further.

By the time you two had sat down with your ice-creams Law ran out of ways to make fun of you. At least you thought until he asked, "So do you like horror movies or just hearing about people's limbs being cut off?"

"No, I'm not a fan of horror movies and I don't enjoy it, it's just interesting. And your one to talk, Mr. I want to be a surgeon." You responded.

"That is totally different" he tried defending himself.

"Mhm, I totally believe you" you responded sarcastically.

"Alright, alright. Sorry I teased you for so long, I had to get back at you a little bit for the. ya know" he leans in and whispers in your ear, "porn comment".

This made you snort remembering the memory. "Wow I totally forgot about that" you continued laughing.

"I wish I could have", he retorted not making eye contact.

The two of you finished your ice-creams and went back to Laws car. You definitely didn't want this to end here, but you didn't know how he felt.

"Hey can I take you somewhere?" he asked looking over at you.

"Yeah, where are we going?", you asked

"You're okay with hiking in the dark right?"

"As long as it doesn't take forever, and I don't end up on one of those true crime podcasts." you responded.

To this he laughed and said, "You'll be fine, I'll make sure you get home."

"Alive right?"

"Yes don't worry."

The ride over was filled with banter and joking around a lot of which revolved around you getting murdered in the woods. But it was all for shits and giggles you trusted Law enough to not murder you in the woods.

The two of you started walking when you asked Law, "So where exactly are we going?"

"I can't tell you that yet" he responded quickly

"Well I think you should tell me."

"And why is that?" he said while raising an eyebrow.

"Because I want to know"

"Yeah no. I'm not taking that reason."

You sighed giving up, allowing the two of you to walk in silence for the time being. That was until you didn't realize where you were walking and tripped over a tree root. Falling right onto Laws back and taking him down with you.

"Woah, (y/n) trying to take me out first?" he said smiling.

Your face was bright red but since it was dark he couldn't tell, thank god. You tried to laugh it off joking around. You got off of him and held out your hand to help him up. When your hands touched there was a warm feeling going from your hand to the rest of your body. But when he let go you felt a whole lot colder than before you two had touched in the first place.

After walking for another 5 minutes or so Law had you turn off the main trail. This confused you and made you think the jokes Law was making earlier about murdering you weren't actually jokes.

Almost as if he could tell you were anxious Law spoke up, "Don't worry, it's not too far off now, only another couple minutes. I think you're going to like it" 

You looked at him skeptically for a moment but since you couldn't really turn around without getting lost you had to follow him. You were surrounded by trees on all sides, the moonlight unable to show through the thick foliage. You looked forward and saw a clearing ahead. A spot where the moon showed through beautifully. There was a small creek running through the opening that you hadn't noticed while making your way here. Inside the clearing there were fireflies blinking their green lights. It was scenic and perfect. 

You were stunned for a moment before you were able to speak, "Wow, Law this is amazing." You said smiling at him. "How did you find this place?"

"Well it's kind of a stupid story" he started, "I came here with Cora, my adoptive father in the first week I came to live with him. I think he thought that it would take me off edge and calm me. I didn't do its job though, I got lost and stumbled across this place. I stayed here for a while until Cora managed to find me. By then I was crying thinking I was going to die out here because I got lost." He stopped for a moment seemingly getting caught up in the memory. "But for some reason whenever I felt overwhelmed with being here this was a place to think"

"Thank you, for showing me" you responded while looking him in the eyes. Getting lost just staring at him.

Almost as if you were in a trance of sorts you took one step towards him. When he didn't move away you placed your right hand on his face. You got on your tippy toes because of how tall he was and leaned in towards him. The kiss was soft, sweet and simple. It was merely a peck but as soon as you did it you took three steps back in shock of your own actions.

Law seemed just as shocked; he went wide eyed just as you had. Your face was bright red and the only thing going through your head was 'Idiot' over and over again.

Once Law snapped out of his shock, he sheepishly grabbed the back of his neck and looked away from you. "Um, I'll get you home now" he said in a near whisper.

"Yeah, that's a good idea" you said in all the embarrassment of the moment, 'I am such a fucking idiot.'
