When you awoke the next morning, you had a pounding headache and dried mascara all down your cheeks.
'I look like shit' you thought to yourself after looking in the bathroom mirror. Deciding to shower you turned on the faucet and got undressed, waiting for the water to heat up to a comfortable temperature. Once you stepped into the shower much of the tenseness alleviated with the flowing warm water.
Allowing yourself to think for a minute all of the memories of what happened last night came back from the fog of your brain. many questions plagued your mind, like what was Zoro going to say? Why did you drink that much? And most importantly, what was Law going to say? He hadn't seemed angry or even annoyed at you, besides at your drunkenness. He seemed more concerned if anything, most wouldn't have been able to tell, but after spending so much time with him it wasn't hard to tell.
As you got out of the shower questioning everything you had originally thought concerning your love life. you made a terrible realization, it was Monday, and there was only 10 minutes until you had to leave in order to get picked up by Robin. Rushing to get ready you throw on the first thing you find which happened to be a hoodie and leggings.
You ran up the stairs from your bedroom and rushed to the kitchen to grab something quickly before Robin got here. Just as you grabbed a granola bar you heard your phone go off. You assumed it was Robin, so you just grabbed your bag and keys to walk out the door. But as you did you saw a car that wasn't Robins, but still all too familiar for you.
Against your best judgment you opened the passenger door and hopped in.
The two of you made direct eye contact, "We really need to talk (Y/n)", he said taking the car out of park. "Tell Robin you're not feeling well and aren't coming to school today"
"Wait where are we going?" you responded, concerned.
"We're skipping school today" he said nonchalantly.
"You can't just make that decision for me!" you yelled, starting to get pissed off
"I don't want to skip school either but based on how you were last night you're going to need the day off anyways. Also, there's Advil in the console if you need it"
You huffed in response staring out the window for a second before getting out your phone and texting Robin as well as your dad in case attendance called. But the last part he had said caught you off guard, you hadn't expected him to be that considerate.
An awkward silence settled between the two of you in the confined space as he continued driving. After letting the silence go on for much too long you asked, "Where are we going Law?"
"Same place I took you last time" he responded bluntly.
Panic sets in as you realize it was the same place that you had kissed him in the first place. Suddenly everything around you looked all too familiar, the way to the spot was seared in your brain. All you could do on the drive home was stare into the scenery and take it all in as panic set in and anxiety took its toll. something that was happening once again on the way there.
Law turned one last corner and suddenly you were hiking your way up to the spot that was beautiful but at the same time so scary. walking by the spot where you tripped, the spot where he had last smiled at you, seeming so long ago now but in truth it was only a few days ago now. As you finally got to the spot the world around you seemed to stop, all the anxiety and stressing over the last few days finally let you catch a breath of much needed air.
"(Y/n) I'm going to start talking and you cannot interrupt me okay", you responded with a head nod spurring him to go on. "The first time I met you in middle school I thought you were strange, but I grew you like you. Despite everything people said about you, you were a nice person and I liked that about you. That night where you got drunk and confessed to me when you said you had a crush on me since middle school, I couldn't sleep all night thinking about it. It seemed to have come out of nowhere and didn't make any sense. I couldn't understand why someone like you liked someone like me. You are one of the nicest people I've ever met, you manage to get along with everyone meanwhile I'm the exact opposite." He took a deep breath, you could tell he was nervous, "Sorry that was off topic, but that night changed everything for me. For whatever reason I hunted you down to talk to you. Then we actually started hanging out and I finally realized how I felt about you, but I really didn't know how to say it. (Y/n), you are the one person who has me hanging off every word you say, I have butterflies in my stomach whenever I see you and I actually like hanging out with you. I really like you, and I understand if I kept you waiting too long and you moved on but-", you cut him off by putting your finger to his lips.
You moved your finger out of the way slowly replacing it with your own lips, leaving your right hand on his jaw, moving your left to his shoulder. This one was similar to the last, a simple peck, giving him the option to stop at any moment. But he didn't, so you slowly pulled away but as you did, he grabbed your face bringing you back in. This kiss was more desperate and passionate than the last, as he pulled away, he kept your faces close as he said, "I'm taking that as an I like you too"
"You didn't get that from my first confession?" you joked, making him smile lightly.
He pulled you into his chest hugging you tightly, "I'm so glad that went well I did not want another awkward car ride home" he let out a relieved sigh into your hair.
"So what are we going to do for the rest of the day since we're skipping?" you asked looking up at him
"Whatever you want, it could be out first official date, or we could just hang out" he responded.
You sighed, "Let's just hang out, I look like shit right now and I don't want to go on our first date like this"
"I'm assuming your wanting that Advil" he stated, letting go of you halfheartedly.
"Yes please" you said starting to make your way back down to Laws car.
As you walked through the trails together you felt something graze your hand repeatedly, when you looked down it made you smile.
He was trying to grab your hand, and the moment couldn't have been any better
