-Syn's POV-
"W-What are we gonna do, Syn?" Krista said quietly, backing slowly away from the door.
"Uh..." I looked around the room looking for anything to get my mind off of the zombies at the door behind me. They pounded on the door, almost pushing me away, but I stood there, unmoving.
"Uh... I can move the bookcase?" Krista said motioning with her chin at a large bookcase in the corner. "Yes! Yeah, move that over here. God! Why didn't I think of that?!" I shouted out loud to myself, staring up at the ceiling and focusing on keeping the door shut.
There was a loud crash and then a yelp and I looked over to Krista. The bookcase had fallen over and Krista had jumped out of the way. "I... I'm sorry," she whispered, tears in her eyes.
"Well that's not gonna work," I said laughing slightly to myself and looking around, trying to think of something.
"Krista," I said staring at a painting, "you need to get out of here." I looked back at her and saw her expression was shocked.
"N-No. Syn!"
"Krista! Go. Get away from here, I'll fight them off."
"I'll wait for you. Where can I meet you?"
"The dock. I'll meet you there in a bit."
Krista sighed and walked over to the back door, turning back and looking at me as she touched the handle. "Don't die now," she said and I smiled, picking an axe up from the floor. "Wouldn't dream of it."
