-Syn's POV-
When I woke up again I thought I was blind. There was a darkness wrapped over my eyes and it was damp and cold. I slowly sat up and took the cloth off my eyes. Krista was sitting next to me and the guy I attacked was laying unconscious behind her. "Please lay back down," she said, and gently pushed me back down. I sighed and put the cloth back over my eyes, falling in and out of conciousness.
After a bit I woke back up and took the cloth off my eyes. I groaned and rolled over onto my side, but stopped after a bit and gasped, my foot stinging almost unbearably. "Shit. Krista? You here?" I said and then heard grumbling. "Can you shut up for once? I swear, you just can't shut up and let me sleep." My eyes snapped open when I heard his voice and I turned around to look at him.
He was laying a few feet away on the other side of the room. He lay on his back, his arm resting over his eyes. There was dried blood on his face and arm and I could tell that I had beaten him up bad.
I looked towards the door as Krista walked in with another cloth. "Oh good. You're up," I nodded and then looked around. "Oh, blondie. Is that you?" The guy asked and I glared at him, "My name's Krista, and the girl who was fighting you is Syn." Krista said smiling. "Don't tell him our names," I mumbled and looked at the man. He was in his early twenties and was a few inches taller than me. 6 feet maybe? He wore black jeans and a black button down. His hair was white and when he talked he had sharp teeth and a split tongue. His ears had a bunch of piercings, with the first being stretched. He was annoyingly handsome, and his attitude extremely shitty. This guy was either a total badass or just overcompenstaing. I smiled. Definately overcompensating.
He sighed and sat up, looking around. His eyes were amber colored with slits instead of pupils. Not like I'm one to talk about fucked up eyes. My eyes were bright red, all thanks to Jane...
He sighed and looked around the room for a moment before his eyes widened and he stared at Krista. "Where's my bat?!" He shouted, jumping up and walking towards Krista.
She backed away quickly, holding her arms up slightly in a deffensive possition.
I frowned and got up, griping my fists. "Hey! Leave her alone," I grumbled and pulled him away from Krista.
He smiled sarcastically, "Aw. The lesbian is trying to save her girlfriend. How sweet." Krista's face reddened at his words and she looked down, "We-We're not together..." she mumbled and I stepped towards the rude man, grabbing him by the shirt collar and pulling him down to my height.
"I'm not a lesbian, asshat. Bi, maybe. But not a lesbian." I growled, at the man. He laughed, raising an eyebrow, "Really now?" his face got serious and he gave me a sickening smile, "Prove it."
I glared at him for a moment before being my lips to his, kissing him harshly and squeezing my eyes shut.
I felt him flail for a moment before I pulled away, a scowl on my face. His cheeks were a bright pink and his eyes were wide. I rolled my eyes and turned back towards Krista, "You're an idiot," I mumbled at him over my shoulder and walked over to stand next to Krista.
She was staring at me wide eyed and with her mouth agape. I laughed at her expression and the man scowled, "Look. This is my base and you two need to leave. So just give me my bat and go." I smiled at the man and retorted, "What? You don't like my kisses?" He looked down and gripped his fists, mumbling profanity.
"Just give me my bat and go." He said without looking up and Krista shook her head. "Nope. Not until you and Syn are nice to each other!" she said, crossing her arms.
The man and I both laughed and looked and grinned at each other. "Oh, she's been more than nice."
"Oh I've been nice alright."
We said at the same time and smiled wider at each other. Krista smiled at us and pranced over to a nearby trash can, pulling out my axe and his bat.
"YOU PUT HER IN A TRASH CAN?!" he shouted and ran over, yanking the bat from Krista's hands and cradelling it in his arms.
I laughed and then grabbed my axe from Krista, whispering to it in a mocking fashion. "Oh... Did she hurt you, baby? Are you okay?" I laughed at myself and the man frowned, causing me to laugh harder.
"This is my base. So leave." He said angrily to Krista and I as we laughed. Krista stopped laughing and went up to him staring up into his eyes. Krista had light brown hair with blue eyes, her skin was a light brown and she was about 5'2 and was supposed to be in ninth grade(15 years old). She wore blue jeans and grey converse under a plain black t-shirt and a red jacket.
"Please let us stay. We've been moving around for months now. Pleeeeeease." She said urgently, and I felt a smile form on my face as the man looked up from her to me in shock and confusion.
"Uh..." He said as he looked back down at her. "Please!" she shouted and looked at him sadly. He looked up at me then back to Krista and sighed, "Fine, but-" his sentence was cut off as Krista shouted happily and ran around the room.
The man frowned as she stopped running and stood in front of him again, "So... What's your name? You never told us," she said, a large smile plastered on her face. "Oh. Uh," he looked over at me for a moment and I smiled, "Uh... My name's Unoriginal." he said and Krista rolled her eyes. "It doesn't matter if it is. I just wanna know!" he looked at her confused, "No. My name is 'Unoriginal'." Krista stared at him, still not understanding.
I laughed and walked up to them. "He means that his name is the word ' Unoriginal.'" I said and smiled at Unoriginal. Understanding flashed across Krista's face before she looked at him confused again, "What the hell kind of name is Unori-" I covered her mouth and then laughed. "What the hell kind of name is 'Syn'? Names are just weird!" I said, not wanting to anger this guy. Especially since we were now living under his roof.
He sighed and then went over to a black backpack in the corner of the room. "Okay, so, ground rules." He turned towards us, "Give me your weapons."
I stared at him in shock before sighing and clenching my fists.
"Fine."
"No way!"
I handed over my axe to Unorignal and said, "Give us our weapons back whenever we leave." He smiled at me, "Scouts honor," he said.
"Syn! Why?!" Krista shouted and I sighed.. "He's not gonna let us stay here if we have our weapons. Please. Just give him your knives and-" Krista cut me off, "No!" she shouted and clenched her fists.
"Krista..." I whined at her. She sighed and then slowly handed Unoriginal her pocket knives. One, in small, ornate lettering, was engraved with one word. 'Olive.' That pocket knife was the last thing Krista owned of her family's. The very thing that her sister had died holding. And I just got her to give it away... I thought and sighed.
"So... I guess we're living together now." I said, smiling at Unoriginal.
