THE NEIGHBORS⋅•⋅⊰∙∘☽༓☾∘∙⊱⋅•⋅
"Is it usually this quiet?" The fairy female asked the tall male as she walked beside him. She didn't know where he was leading her but they soon stopped at a place that was called, "Eddie's Post Office". She didn't know what a Post Office was. "Not really, it's very rare for it to be this quiet. Though since is still pretty early in the morning I assume everyone is still getting ready for the day." The green caterpillar replied.
Howdy raised on of his right arms to knock on the door from the Post Office but didn't get a chance to since the door opened before he could. "Howdy! Good morning!" Another fairly tall male said happily as he carried a few boxes on his muscular arms.
"Good morning Eddie, heading out to deliver mail?" Howdy asked to which Eddie nodded. "Yup! Though I don't have any mail for you today." He replied and Howdy shook his head.
"Oh, I didn't come for that. I'm showing our new neighbor around!"
'New neighbor? I'm just passing by though.. I haven't moved nor do I live here... Also I'm pretty sure I have to buy a house in order to live in it. Not that I know how to build one like my parents did..' (Y/N) thought as she stood behind Howdy but did not correct him.
"New neighbor? Where?" Eddie asked as he glanced around confused. "Um, I'm down here." She mumbled, making Eddie look down at her. "Oh! I'm sorry. I didn't see you there." The mailman apologized to the shorter female who looked oddly embarrassed by that.
'I didn't know there was gonna be so many tall creatures.. it's kind of intimidating.' Even so, Eddie looked just as friendly as Howdy and he also had a nice aura around him.
"Well it's nice to meet you. I'm Eddie." He reached his larger hand out to her which she then grabbed and shook it. "(Y/N) and it's also nice to meet you."
Eddie tilted his hat down and then turned back to look at Howdy with a smile. "I would love to keep chatting but I have mail to deliver." He said to the both of them who then nodded in understanding.
"Do you mind if we join you? I want (Y/N) to meet the other neighbors as well." The green Pillar asked to Eddie who happily agreed. He did love the company after all and seeing a new face around there was a breath of refreshing air. "Of course! You'll love it here you'll see. Everyone is very nice."
As they made their way towards their next stop, Eddie asked her a lot of questions like from where did she come from and other stuff like her favorite places to visit. Though he was surprised when she told him it was her first time leaving home. Which he then as well as Howdy encouraged her that seeing and meeting new people was amazing.
So they were glad she decided to leave her home and join them on this lovely neighborhood. They were sure she would truly adore it here.
While they continued to walk, (Y/N) had started to have this feeling of being watched. It was as if this stare was burning deep into her skull, but she didn't know what it was. Her family and her could easily feel for auras and this one was not as welcoming as the two creatures with her right now.
She decided to look to where she felt as she was being stared at from and what her eyes met was a red house with some other colors like dark blue and yellow. (Y/N) was astonished she never noticed the house in the middle of the neighborhood.
It stuck out like a sore thumb.
What intrigued her the most was the windows. They were purely black and you could not see inside of it.
"Weird.." She mumbled to herself as she kept looking towards the house. The more she stared the more she felt watched by it. But she knew she was being silly, how could you feel stared down by a house?
'Houses aren't alive (Y/N), you're just being drama- Did that house just blinked at me?'
The fairy stood frozen in place, she was 100% sure she did not just imagine that. "Uh.. Howdy, Eddie? Is that house-?"
When she turned around, the girl almost had a straight up heart attack. She was face to face with another person she did not expect to be there with pitch black eyes. This individual was staring straight into her soul, though they had a welcoming smile on. "Hello new neighbor!"
(Y/N) screamed in fright by the new presence who had snuck in behind her. She didn't even feel him get so close to her. The new individual only continued to smile happily at her and just when they were about to speak again, they were pulled up into the air by the collar of their shirt by another fellow.
"Wally! You should respect personal space! I'm sorry Miss, he tends to do this." What looked like a big fluffy dog spoke to her in apology for his friend.
The female fairy took this chance to study this "Wally" who had invaded her space just a few seconds ago. He was limp on his friend's hand and looked like a kitten when they're picked up by their parents by the back of their scruff. His outfit was surely very colorful and lively and he also had dark blue hair which was styled in a very unique way she had not seen before.
"It's alright.." She replied after a few seconds of silence and smiled. "I'm (Y/N) Willowblossom, nice to meet you two." The blue creature smiled back and with his free hand reached out for hers. "I'm Barnaby and this," He shook the shorter male on his grasp to signal he was now referring to him. "is Wally."
She shook his hand and giggled as she saw how Wally was struggling to get back on the ground but only to continue to fail. (Y/N) noticed both of them had similar outfits, in color that is and they had a few designs that made them match. Barnaby, like the other two she had met, was also very huge in height.
Though this made sound silly, when Barnaby finally placed Wally back on the ground, she found herself feeling giddy to finally meet someone short like her, which made her feel less intimidated by him.
'I'm pretty sure we're the same height, or maybe I'm an inch taller. His hair does give him more height...' She thought as she continued to scan the two new beings.
"I guess there's no reason to introduce you to these two." Howdy said as he stood behind the two new people the girl just met. "I believe so." She replied.
"The new house belongs to you then, right?" Barnaby spoke and (Y/N) turned to look at him confused. "To me?" She asked with a questioning look.
"You're (Y/N) Willowblossom, sister of Silverrose Willowblossom, correct?" Barnaby asked once again and she slowly nodded.
'How did they know that?'
Howdy, Eddie and Barnaby chuckled at her confused expression while Wally kept searching for her eyes as his cat like smile stayed on his face. "I guess the surprise is ruined." Eddie then said.
"I don't understand.."
"We knew who you were already. Your sister visited the neighborhood a few months ago and well, she payed for your new house. We knew you'd come here soon. That's why we took care of your house until you'd got here. Though Barnaby kind of ruined the surprise." Howdy then explained.
'I guess that clears something up..'
Though at the same time she wondered how her sister knew she'd end up here? What if she never stopped in the neighborhood and continued going somewhere else? Did her sister just took a risk and thought that she'd hopefully end up here?
'It doesn't fully add up. I wonder...'
Her train of thoughts were then cut off as she noticed a pair of white and dark blue shoes stopping right in front of her. (Y/N) looked up and was met once again by the black eyes of Wally. "Can I show you around the rest of the neighborhood?" He asked as he reached his hand to grab hers.
The fairy with a bit of hesitation grabbed his and nodded at his friendly gesture. Not seeing anything wrong with his approach as he proceeded to give her a warm smile. "You'll love your new home here! You'll see."
Then he began pulling her away from the other three who didn't notice the two short stacks slipping away from them.
