Who hugged me from behind like that?! "Diana!" I heard him say. Then he stopped hugging me and I got a good look at him. Dalton? I hugged him again and jumped into his arms, "Dalton!" I said.

Dalton was my best friend since, forever. He was really my only friend, other than Delilah, when we were little. We used to do everything together, go to school together, eat lunch together, walk home together, do homework together. We were like the duo everyone knew. One day he moved away and I thought I would never see him again, but he's back!
"Dede I've missed you so much!"
"Me too!"
'Dede' when we were young he called me that caused he couldn't say Diana. Then he just always said it as a nickname.
His blond hair was fluffy and messy, his blue eyes were sparkly as ever. "Diana, who's your friend?" Holly asked in a teasing tone. "This is Dalton he was like my best friend when I was little" I said, "hi, nice to meet you" Dalton smiled.
"Ooh are you going to the party tonight?" Misty asked, "uh no I didn't hear about a party"
"Well I have last minute invitations. See you there" she replied. Was Misty flirting? With Dalton?!

The party. Misty's party. It was gonna be huge, everyone was going! I really hoped i saw William. He's all I ever think about now. I was getting ready. Delilah was laying on her bed as I sat at our shared vanity and put on eyeliner. "You sure you don't wanna go?" I asked, "no, I don't really have anyone to hang out with" she replied, "you could hang out with me and the girls" I offered, "no I'd rather just stay here,"
"Well okay." I put on my short heels. They were only about 2 inches tall because my dad won't let me have any higher heels. "Have fun" she says as I walk out the door.
I take on last look in the bathroom mirror. I really wanted to catch William's attention. I was wearing a short black dress with a ruffled skirt, my blond hair was crimped and put into a half up half down style. I really look great!
"Bye dad!" I say as I walk out the front door, "bye, Diana have fun!" He replied.

The only reason my dad let me go to this party was because Misty had told him it was just gonna be us and a few other girls. Of course there was gonna be a lot of boys though.
I had to take the bus to Misty's house, bad idea. Because of the way I was dressed I kept getting weird looks, by everyone. I stood there awkwardly, why did I have to take the bus? I could have asked my dad for a ride! Then I see a familiar face get on the bus. Dalton. He sees me and walks over. "Hey, Dede, you heading to Misty's?"
"Yeah, you?"
He nodded. He was dressed pretty casual. I felt kinda uncomfortable, I should have at least brought a jacket! Ugh such a dumbass! Then I felt Dalton put his arm around me as his other hand is holding on the pole. "You okay now?" He whispered. I nodded as I held on to him. I hope no one from school saw us, then they would think me and Dalton are dating and I won't have  a chance with William!
Then it was finally our stop. We got off and went our separate ways, him to his friends and me to mine.

"Diana!" Misty ran up to me and hugged me. "You look so hot!" She said, "thanks, you too!" I replied. She was wearing a hot pink dress, it was short and tight but had ruffled sleeves. Her hair was all down and crimped. "I see you're trying to get the attention" she said, I chuckled softly, "maybe for a particular person" I replied. She playfully slapped my arm gently, "you are so bad, Diana!" She exclaimed. We walk over to the living room where the group of people. "The popular kids."
They were all drinking and some even smoking even though we were all 14.
"You want some?" Holly asked as she took a sip of her drink. "No thanks, waters just fine" I replied, "boo! You're so boring! It's not like we'll get caught!" Misty said, "well I guess a bit won't hurt" I replied. Holly took a cup off the coffee table and poured half a beer bottle in it and handed it to me. I took a sip. It was disgusting, but somehow I felt a rush from it, knowing I wasn't supposed to be doing this made me feel so reckless. I took another sip, "yeah, Diana is going crazy!" Holly laughed. We all laughed.

We had danced and drank. I didn't drink a lot, only the rest of the cup that Holly had given me. Later a lot of people were tipsy. We had all played spin the bottle. I wasn't worried because I had kissed plenty of boys, well 2 but still! After a while it was my turn to spin. It had landed on Bill Watson. He was a good looking guy, brown hair and hazel gold eyes. He chuckled, I could tell he was drunk. "You gonna kiss me or drink, Diana?" He asked. I quickly leaned forward and full on made out with him for about 10 seconds, pulling his face in closer. Everyone cheered. And then I look around, William is no where in sight. I wonder where he went, I saw him earlier, did he leave early? I wiped my lips with my arm and stood up.

I go outside in Misty's backyard. She of course has a huge pool back there. There wasn't anyone out here. I sigh. I really shouldn't be here, what if the cops get called because of the music? Then we'd all be fucked. More than half the kids in there are drunk! I hear something behind me. I look around. Then I see him, shining in the moonlight like the stars. I walked up to him. "Hey William" I say. He jumps a bit, "oh hey, I didn't know there was someone else out here" he replied. I chuckled softly. He did too. "Hey, um Diana I'm sorry about what I said the other day in front of everyone, I just wanted people to think I'm cool" he said. "Oh no, it's okay. It wasn't a very good joke but it was alright. I could have definitely done better"
"Oh yeah?"
"Yeah. If I was a guy I would say something like" I made a dumb fake deep voice. "You bitch I'm gonna make out with you and use you and then make you cry about it!"
He looked at me confused. I chuckled nervously and then he chuckled too. Then we heard police sirens. "Oh shit are they here for us?" I asked. Then everyone inside started screaming. "Come on, hurry!" William said as he grabbed my hand. He runs and then jumps the fence leading to the street. Then I jump the fence, I succeeded even though I had never done this in my life but then again I've never ran from the cops. "Fuck my dress ripped!" I say. A big slit was right in the back. "Oh god, uh here!" William took off his jacket and tied it around my waist, covering the back. "Hurry!"
I grab his hand again and we run. We run all the way until we reached the river.

We sat there on the deck. "So do you normally run from the cops?" I asked, "come on, I know what the rumors say but yeah it's true" he replied. I laughed. "You know you're really sweet, why do you put on that tough act?"
He looked down and the river glimmering with just the moon lighting it. "Well you of all people know how it is. You either fit in or you become a complete outcast"
"Maybe there can be an in between?" I get on my knees while he is still sitting and I smile. His face became flustered and I got close and kissed him. He kissed me back. We break away and smile at each other. Right when I got caught up in the moment I realized my dad told me to be back by midnight and last time I checked the clock it was 11:30! "Oh gosh I have to go!" I quickly stood up. "Right now?" William asked, "yes, I'm sorry! I'll see you at school, William!" I replied and ran. And just like Cinderella at midnight I leave my prince.
