The Confession

Luigi exited the room and went down the hall only to bump into his brother who was just coming to check on him.

"AH! Uh- oh! H-Hey Mario!" Luigi chuckled nervously and stood back.

"Weegee! How was your day? Ready to go home?" Mario smiled.

Luigi felt his face heat up as they thought of the day that was... he smiled nervously and nodded... All he could think about was Bowser and the time they shared, the words spoken and their kiss.

"Good... good... it was good..." He looked away and swung on his heels, he couldn't make eye contact with his brother without feeling a wave of instant guilt.

Mario chuckled and crossed his arms, he crocked a brow at his brothers odd behaviour, he has been noticing how different his little brother has been acting these last few days, sure, he was acting more distant and it seemed like he was hiding something, this of course worried Mario, was something happening behind closed doors that he didn't know about? Was Bowser hurting him? Physically or psychologically? Was something happening that Luigi was too scared to share? Whatever it was, Mario definitely hasn't even merely thought of the fact it could be his brother falling for Bowser. How would that make any sense? Mario hates Bowser! Wouldn't Luigi too? And Mario knows Luigi has never been the relationship kind of guy, never had a crush or been on a date so it wouldn't strike him at all that his brother may be catching feelings, which makes this situation A LOT worse. If he was to find out he'd be lost, he'd feel as though he doesn't even know his brother anymore, he wouldn't even believe it! He'd probably guess Bowser somehow put a spell over him! Even if that's stupid, what seems more stupid is Luigi ever falling for that creature! It doesn't seem possible, So why would he even question it?

"You sure everything is alright Weegee? You seem -a ... different recently..." Mario smiled nervously as he waited for response.

Luigi could feel the sweat dripping from his underarms, he gulps and straightens his back up.

"OF COURSE EVERYTHING IS FINE, WHY WOULDN'T EVERYTHING BE FINE?"

Mario stood back and scratched the back of his hand, this alarmed him. What was wrong with Luigi?

"Well, for starters bro, you're doing everything you would usually do when stressed, Avoiding eye contact, talking fast, avoiding questions..." Mario numbered off.

"W-Well wouldn't you be stressed if you had to look after Bowser? Ehe..." Luigi gulped, he moved his hand over his chest and tried to take a deep breath.

"I- uh, suppose? If it's too much just stop Luigi- nobody is forcing you to–"

"NO! No... no, I... I can do it! Look, let's just stop talking about Bowser- Please?!" Luigi cut in with a panic.

Now this REALLY alarmed Luigi, what the hell was going on in that room? Mario promised he'd stay out of the way, he promised he wouldn't get involved and let his brother do his own thing but this was getting too much... Luigi was definitely different, and as his older brother, Mario can't stand here and keep his mouth shut, especially if Luigi is in danger and he isn't telling him! He was going to find out one way or another, if Luigi won't tell him, then fine. Tomorrow he will sneak around, see what he can see... he needs to know what goes on in that room, and if that means spying and invading privacy, then so be it! He is doing this for his brother's protection! There is nothing bad about that!

"Fine. let's go home, but if something is going on Lui, we both know, eventually, I will find out." Mario warned before turning away from his brother and walking ahead.

Luigi gulped, he pulled at his collar and tried to breathe, he was terrified. Mario could never know. He can't risk his brother hating him forever over a stupid little crush. Gah! Why did it have to be Bowser? Why! It could have been anyone, anyone in the world... but it's the one Mario hates the most, this would be humiliating for Mario, Luigi doesn't want to hurt his brother... but he also wants to be happy, he may never find love again... he needs this.
