The Fire Garden

Luigi sighed as he leaned forward in his chair, he rested his head against the table and tried to process everything going on in his mind. So much had happened in the last few days and it was starting to really take a toll on Luigi's mind, he couldn't wrap his head properly around all the events... Everything just happened so fast... he didn't regret taking the job to look after Bowser as his prisoner but half of him regretted it at the same time? He didn't want to fall in love, but he did. He loves the feeling that Bowser gives him but he hates it, he feels so conflicted about every single thing! He wanted Bowser but then didn't want him, He knew how wrong it was, but it felt so right! What was he supposed to do? He definitely did love Bowser, there was no way out of that, but how could he love someone so brutal, so selfish and cruel? Well... Bowser wasn't all that! He has proved he can be kind, loving, playful and sweet... he just switches a lot... maybe he just needed someone who can be his love and support, maybe all he really wants is someone to love him? Luigi really didn't know at this stage, all he really knew was that he was in love with Bowser and there was no getting out of it! He could try to leave and never turn back but he will always have that regret 'what if' in the back of his mind! He can't just leave his first true love! He has never felt like this before! He has been around for at least two decades now, you'd think he would have at least had one crush! But nothing, until now. That has to be a sign right? He knew deep down how hard this relationship was going to be, he knew that Bowser still has a lot of work to become a better person... but he couldn't help but still feel for the guy... every time they are close his heart races, his head spins, he feels helpless beside him. He can't get Bowser out of his head, Hell, even after he passed out he thought of Bowser in his dreams! Even after everything he had done... He was as obsessed as Bowser was, but he needed to be civil, he needed to have limits and he needed to teach Bowser a lesson of respect, which meant to stay strong and withdraw from any flirts or ways Bowser may swoon, he had to hold on a little longer, he needed to know for sure that Bowser was genuinely sorry for what he had done... and maybe some clarity that he won't ever do that again, he also needs boundaries... for example, Luigi won't be ruling the universe with him, no matter what he says! And Bowser needs to accept that! So many bits and pieces within what could be a simple relationship... Was it all worth it? Is love really worth risking it all?

Bowser asked the chefs to make Luigi something small, like a bowl of fruit salad and some orange juice, it was simple enough, and healthy too, he just hoped that Luigi would eat, even if it was just a little bit, for himself he asked for a big breakfast, a plate of sourdough bread, bacon, eggs, mushrooms, hashbrowns and avocado, he was a big guy! He needed a lot of food, plus he barely got fed back at the mushroom kingdom! He needed to tone back his muscles... and what better way to start then with a delicious breakfast start!

Bowser strolled out of the kitchen, the sound of the huge doors being swung open caused Luigi to jolt up from his spot. and pulled out a chair across from Luigi and smiled.

"I ordered something I think will be perfect for you." Bowser hummed.

Luigi nodded in response and looked away, he was quiet again.

Bowser awkwardly tapped his fingers on the table as he hummed, he hated the silence between them, it was killing him. He shifted in his seat and cleared his throat before speaking.

"You look nice today..." Bowser muttered shyly.

Luigi's cheeks tinted ever so slightly, he smiled awkwardly and nodded.

"Thanks..."

He couldn't resist compliments, they made him go crazy, even the smallest ones.

Bowser smiled back, he was making progress, that's good!

"Soo... what do you think of Junior? He can be a handful, but trust me, he's a good kid!" Bowser grinned.

Luigi paused... he had something he had been meaning to ask Bowser.
