2. School School. How I loath Thee

It had been a week since we moved here and we had moved in completely. Bear had insisted on using his ability to move the stuff and Lila used her ability to suggest how to set things up.

Lila was obsessed with care bears and had gotten a major collection over the years. She watched the show all the time and always slept with Grumpy Bear in her bed. She displayed her bears on a shelving unit and she was very particular about how it was set up. I didn't help her with decoring her room having been told to leave her alone se she could do it herself. All I was allowed to do was move furniture and even then she preferred Bear because he used his ability.

Bear had spent three nights in a row sorting out his basement. He wasn't a big one for decoration or lots of color but he was picky on set up and placement like Lila. He also loved plants and was obsessed with propagating new ones. He was a simple child that one and it often confused me. He had and explosive personality and was extremely hyper so you would expect his taste in decorating would be the same but it wasn't.

I love decorating aswell and explosive color. I had the smallest room not like large spaces so it was cluttered just how I liked it. Lila wanted to do it for me but I had to explain to her why she couldn't do that. She was understanding and moved on going to see if Bear would allow her to decorate his space.

School would be starting soon and Bear was excited. He planned on going to the arcade with Lila and I was planning on going shopping for other the rest of the stuff we needed. 

I was walking down the isle with a full trolley when I got distracted by something on the shelf. I felt my trolley crash into someone and I saw them fall over. Felling incredibly guilty I ran around my trolley and cheaked on them "I am so sorry. I was distracted" I froze when I saw it was Steve. He smiled at me and I offered him my hand to help him up "Its okay I was distracted as well." his eyes kept flickering from mine to the scar above my cheek and I rolled my eyes turning around walking back to my trolley.

"Hey wait" He called and I turned "I'm sorry for that" He said sheepishly rubbing the back of his neck "It's whatever. I'm used to it" He frowned "It's still wrong" I shrugged. "So are those kids I saw you with the other day your siblings" I shook my head "My Kids actually." he frowned again and I swear I saw a wrinckle forming "aren't you too young to have kids" I laughed "Non biological kids actually. I adopted them when Lila was a baby" he nodded.

"Halloween is coming up you have plans" I shook my head "nope. Bear is planning on taking Lila trick or treating so I don't have plans" he smiled "There is going to be a party Halloween night you wanna come. I can pick you up if you want" I shook my head "I have my own car" His eyebrows raised "What type" I smiled loving my car and bragging about her beauty "a 67 Chevy impala. She is amazing" he nodded "Well I have to go Bear and Lila should be back from the arcade already" He nodded "See you at school" I waved him good bye and started chewing on my thumb "He has a girlfriend Lark" I scolded my self as I headed for the cashier.

Morning came and everything wash chaotic "Bear hurry up were going to be late" I yelled down the stairs. Lila was ready having woken up at 5 this morning being excited for school. I had dressed and eaten at the same time running late like Bear. "I'm coming I'm coming" He yelled back and I shook my head.

Craming everyone and their bags into the car I sped off down the road heading for Lila's school first. She was jumping up and down in her seat and I smiled at her "Now remember Lila you can't use your gifts to communicate with the others. You are going to have to use sign language. I've taught you the basics so use it" She nodded and I parked my car before helping Lila out. "Have an amazing day. Learn stuff" I yelled after her as she ran inside.

Bear was in the front seat staring out the window grinning "I met a bunch of boys last night at the arcade and they seemed really cool. They told me my name was cool" I smiled at him "you gonna try become friends with them" He nodded and I patted his knee "Thank you for trying. Now that you don't have to worry about Lila you can live your life" He looked at me "So can you Lark. You don't have to worry about us" I nodded "I have been invited to a Halloween party already" his eyes doubled in size and his jaw dropped "What" I asked while chuckling.
