Chapter 13: Just Your Usual Disastrous Thursday
"Sounds promising," Sirius said as he rubbed his palms together.
Lily groaned, "They are going to end up in trouble, aren't they?"
Draco, then realised what the chapter contained, groaned and put his face in his hands. "Why did this have to show up?" He mumbled. Ron, who heard the comment, snickered.
"Wait! Is it when...?" Ginny asked, her eyes gleaming with excitement at the thought of someone getting embarrassed.
First-year Gryffindors only had Potions with the Slytherins, so Harry was lucky and didn't have to put up with the peacock much. Astra, though, didn't have the same luxury.
But flying lessons would start on Thursday -- and Gryffindor and Slytherin would be learning together. Harry had been acting all doom-gloom since then. He even resigned from the role of peacekeeper between her and Ron.
Astra wondered what was so bad about flying. Back at Wools, nothing excited her like climbing a tall tree and being high in the air. Luckily Wools had lots of trees, and Astra, despite having an endless list of chores, always had time to doze off on a high branch of a tree.
The albino peacock certainly did talk about flying a lot. He complained loudly about first years never getting on the house Quidditch teams and told long, boastful stories that always seemed to end with him narrowly escaping Muggles in helicopters. Astra wouldn't have to mind much if there wasn't the fact that Draco Malfoy was absolutely the worst storyteller.
"Really," Draco scoffed.
Offence intended.
Delphi, on the other hand, wanted nothing to do with flying. "I want nothing to do with such a useless sport." She said."What's even the point of it?"
"Exactly, at least someone understands!" Lily cried.
"I bet she is scared of flying," James exclaimed, "Stop rolling your eyes Evans, we know you're scared of flying too. I don't what's the problem, I have volunteered on more than one occasion to teach you."
"I stand by my sacred word, Potter," Lily scoffed, "NO.""Well looks like you finally broke your sacred word, Evans," Sirius smirked, silver eyes glancing at Harry.
Astra had her shark grin forming within seconds, "You are scared of flying, aren't you."
Draco paused his other tale from across them. Good. She wanted to throw the goblet of pumpkin juice at his face.
"Do it," Frank muttered.
"She is afraid of flying." He nodded and continued to rat out his gorilla 2, Crabbe's ears.
Astra didn't drink her pumpkin juice that day. Instead, she dropped it all over Draco.
Draco grumbled multiple curses under his breath as the entire room shook with laughter.
As Delphi fussed over a whining Draco,
"I was not whining. " Protested Draco.
"Sure you were not." To his surprise, his mother replied with a small smile.
"Delphini had definitely taken that fussy-ness from you Narcissa," Mafalda said, she briefly glanced at her children. It seems at least her grandchildren were close in a way Lucius and Eleanor never would be.
Blaize Zabini leaned forward to high-five her. That boy was here for the sole reason of entertainment, and frankly, things were always exciting with Astra.
