You've always had the ability to see into someone's past memories with just a touch. It had to be physical contact with the skin of your palm to someone else's skin - that didn't matter where. Your ability wouldn't work with the back of your hand. Though, one good thing about it was, you could only see someone's memories once. If you touched that person anymore after, you didn't have to worry about being put in a forced trance again.
Honestly, you thought it was more of a curse than a gift.
Sometimes, you would accidentally touch someone you didn't know without your gloves on and you'd be shoved into their mind where their past memories resided.
Your eyes would glaze over slightly white, and you'd be put into an almost catatonic trance. Nothing outside could break it. And that meant absolutely nothing. That unfortunately meant that, even if someone hurt you or even killed you, it would not have broken the trance. You could die from it, and you knew that very well.
People who didn't know of your strange ability always looked at you strangely when it happened, and they would exchange looks and hushed voices.
That never failed to make you insecure about it. And, unfortunately, you were never able to get a handle on your "curse".
Although you struggled to make ends meet, you had your lovely neighbour and friend, Blaise Zabini.
You've been friends with Blaise since you were children, but you've never gone to Hogwarts. You went to Beaxbatons in France and came back for the holidays to visit family and Blaise, and you were of pure blood. You even developed a bit of a French accent there, learning to speak French almost fluently. Fleur was another close friend of yours, and you had been elated when she told you she was engaged to a certain someone named Bill Weasley.
You never felt anything negative towards so-called Mudbloods, Muggles, or Blood-traitors. Neither did Blaise, and you two had similar interests when you met as children, and thus you formed a close friendship that lasted for years.
After you and Blaise had graduated your respective schools, and after the whole battle for Hogwarts had blown over and the Dark Lord was defeated, you met up with him at a park in the Muggle world.
Apparently, he had brought a friend, who you thought was quite attractive. His name was Draco Malfoy, and he had platinum, almost pure white hair and icy blue-gray eyes.
You had heard of the Malfoy family; they were quite well known as a pure-blood family that worked under Voldemort when he was still alive. Draco had quickly split off from his family soon after the battle had ended, but kept in touch with his mother.
You stood up from the bench that you had previously sat on when you saw Blaise walking towards you with his friend in tow.
"Blaise, salut! It's nice to see you again! Comment ça va?" you greeted, almost identically to how you greeted him every time, and you hugged him tightly and affectionately.
He chuckled. "Salut, ça va bien, merci. I missed you."
Every time you visited home, you had to see Blaise at least once. Every time you did, you taught him some of the French you learned while you were away. It was nice.
