Today was just not Sirius' day.
He'd woken up on the wrong side of the bed with a sore, stiff neck that bothered him every waking moment, he was dozing off every few minutes in class and the endless fatigue didn't help with his attitude, so he was irritated all day, everyone around him seemed to bug him... It just went on and on.
Though, Sirius never seemed to be irritated by your presence, or the other Marauders.
At lunch, you sat next to him and demanded he eat at least something. He'd told you he wasn't hungry, and he barely ate at breakfast.
Having seen your stern face and heard your demands, he begrudgingly gave in and ate some of the food you offered him. You knew what kind of food he liked, so you specifically picked it out and set it on his plate.
After lunch came a few more classes, and then school was over for the day.
You'd spotted Sirius heading to the library and opted to follow him. You were determined to make him feel better.
Once inside the library, you noticed that the boy you were looking for was sat at a table in the back. You made your way over and sat across from him.
He hadn't looked up from the open book, but he had a glower on his face. He didn't seem to be computing what he was reading, having read it a few times already.
You watched silently as he let out an exasperated sigh and practically slammed the book shut. He slid it aside and put his face in his hands, elbows resting on the table.
You reached out and placed a hand on his forearm, giving it a gentle squeeze as he rubbed his face with the heels of his hands. He ran his fingers through his tangled hair.
After a little while of him moping, reading again and you occasionally making sure he was alright, he still seemed to be out of it. He was yet again having trouble registering what he was reading over and over, and he was getting increasingly frustrated.
"Hey," you softly said, snapping him out of his stupor.
He looked up at you, an angry look in his big, dark eyes.
You couldn't help but smile. He looked cute for some reason.
You stood up and rounded the table to settle in a seat beside him, and he watched you curiously the whole time.
You settled beside him and perched your chin on his shoulder, causing him to quickly turn his - now red because of the close proximity - face away.
"Why so serious, Sirius Black?" you said, practically in his ear, since you were so close to him.
He cracked a smile and you immediately felt better, now that he felt less angry, thanks to your remark.
"Good one, I'll admit," he muttered, failing to fight the smile on his pretty face.
You grinned, leaning further and pressing a kiss to his cheekbone. That made his heart skip a beat.
You seemed to have such a way of making people feel better, and he loved it.
He didn't know what he'd do without you.
