Getting lectured by his dad happened often, it was almost becoming a daily routine. The more Lo'ak wanted to prove himself to his dad, the less his dad seem to take him seriously. Today was no different. "I cannot believe you right now Lo'ak. When will you learn to listen to me?" Jake loudly asked. Lo'ak could only look down in shame, knowing that if he caught his father's gaze he might cry. "I don't want you to leave the village until i say so. Understood?" He continued. Lo'ak hesitantly nodded his head. "Do you understand, Lo'ak?"
"Yes, sir." The smaller Na'vi quickly responded not wanting to fuel his father's anger even more. Jake dismissed Lo'ak, quickly leaving him. Lo'ak took a deep breath and slowly walked back to their shared marui pod. As he reached his home, he bumped into his older brother.
"Hey baby bro.. I heard dad earlier. Are you okay?" Neteyam asked placing a hand on his younger brother's head. "Where were you for dad to get this angry?" He added.
"I was not even far.. it's just because I didn't tell him i was leaving to go see Payakan... He said he got worried and told me once again that i need to tell him where i'm going. I just got excited to tell something to Payakan.. and i forgot." Ever since Neteyam's near death experience, their father has been extremely protective over them. He wants to know where they are every second of every minute. Lo'ak understood why of course. Almost losing his brother made him realise how he had been acting towards Neteyam. He wouldn't be able to live with himself if he kept acting so ungrateful and lost his brother for real.
"oh I'm sorry baby bro. I can try to talk to him if you want me to." Neteyam suggested as he followed Lo'ak to their pod. Lo'ak shook his head. "No need, i don't want you to argue with him too.."
That night was quiet. Lo'ak couldn't go in the water and weaving was such a boring thing to do that he ended playing with Tuk. He isn't exactly the type to play magical animals, but since he couldn't do much he didn't have much choice.
---
The following day, Lo'ak was wondering around the village. He knew his father had a way of knowing whether he was listening to his orders or not. He could feel eyes watching him, making sure he wouldn't go do something stupid. It pissed him off that he couldn't do anything. What was he suppose to do huh? Why could his father never trust him?
After a while of simply walking around doing nothing, he decided there was really nothing to do when he couldn't even set foot near the water. With heavy steps, he made his way back to the marui.
When he entered, he found Tuk and a new face... he slowly walked in catching his sisters attention. "Lo'ak!" She loudly said jumping to her feet to grab Lo'ak's hands. She led him to meet the stranger that was sitting further in the marui looking at them with a smile.
When Lo'ak locked eyes with the stranger's own, it was as if everything around them disappeared. He could hear birds singing as he walked up to them.
He smiled, never breaking eye contact with them. "Hey.."
They smiled at him nodding their head in salutation. Tuk dragged him to sit with them. "This is (Y/N), she accepted to come play with me since you didn't want to." She happily said as she reached for a small figure out father had sculpted for her.
"Hi Lo'ak, I heard a lot about you. You're well-known in the clan" they softly said. Lo'ak stared in awe. Their voice was enchanting. How come have he never seen them before or heard of them.
