I still love him.

And I remember when I met him, it was so clear that he was the only one for me.

I am from the Ta'unui Clan, our clan was on the Eastern Sea. We were living peacefully until a group of Sky People showed up, looking for Jake Sully. The Na'vi hybrid soldiers threatened my people, asking and demanding for more information on the whereabout of Toruk Makto.

We were scared. They had us kneeling in front of them, our hands held behind our back, but my people are strong and never told them what they wanted to know.

Frustrated that our Olo'eyktan and Tsahik didn't share any information to the Sky People, the man in charge decided to order his squad to kill an Ilu, hoping that would make us crack. It didn't.

After some convincing from the human boy who was with them, they left, but they couldn't just leave without burning our village, right?

They burned everything, everything I've ever known was burned, destroyed. Every marui was nothing but aches.

I cried. I cried so much.

My father was ordered to go inform Tonowari, the leader of the Metkayina Clan, that the Sky People were approaching. I volunteered to go with him, I felt like it was my duty to my people. Having passed my iknimaya and received my first tattoo, I was considered a new warrior and I wanted to prove myself. It wasn't a big mission, but I wanted to do it.

The trip took only two days, and we were at the Metkayina Clan. As we walked through the village, heads turned to look at us, probably wondering who we were and what we were doing here. We quickly made our way to the Olo'eyktan's marui to share information with him.

My father looked at me, signaling me to leave the marui while he talked with Tonowari. I frowned and shook my head, "No." I said firmly. He glared at me, and I sighed as I turned around and left the marui.

I sat outside, not really knowing where else I was supposed to go. I looked around, watching the villagers as they did their own thing. It looked rather peaceful here. As I picked at my fingers, a presence approached me, moving with grace and pride. I looked up to find a young Na'vi, around my age. His blue eyes filled with a warmth that echoed the glow of the ocean. Our gazes locked, and in that moment, we knew.

We both knew it, right away.

I had to stay for a few days. I got to know the boy, Ao'nung. He was brave, smart and caring. I had never felt this strongly about someone before. When I left, he told me he would visit me. I said I would do the same.

We promised each other, and we never broke that promise.

He would visit me in my village, he even helped my people as we rebuilt our homes. I would visit him. We enjoyed our time together. I took him to places I loved; I showed him everything I knew. He did the same. We shared parts of ourselves that we never shared with anyone. With him, I felt safe, loved.

We loved each other.

And as the years went on, things got more difficult- we were faced with more challenges.

His responsibilities as future Olo'eyktan were important and started take more and more of his time. No matter what we tried, it always felt like our relationship was falling apart.
