Holiday Hijinks Part 1

Much time had passed since Yzma's recovery and the Potters were enjoying a holiday on their own personal island in the Caribbean. The holiday season had come and so far the Gryffindor Quidditch Team made a strong impression despite Arisa being Ravenclaw's new primary seeker. The Gryffindor Quidditch Team was able to win the match 210 to 150 in Gryffindor's favor. But the surprise came when Hufflepuff was able to defeat Slytherin by 10 points due to team Captain Ezra Hever being at the top of his game that day as Hufflepuff's keeper. However, the Slytherin Dragon Racing Team was able to pull a surprise upset when Camille defeated Russell Carlin in the dragon race on the weekend following the Quidditch Match in which Slytherin had lost which kept Slytherin in the race and Camille herself in the good books of the students from the conservative families.

"What a year so far," said Daisy, "I'm glad Victoria Bathory is teaching Potions for 5th year and below. We're learning a lot from her as it is and she's much fairer than Snape would have been. Our housemates are very happy about that."

"Shame about the circumstances in which we got an early week of holiday break though," Abigail Potter said, "I still can't believe Kellah's older sibling got attacked by the basilisk. It was fortunate that they had a mirror on them otherwise they'd be dead right now and a death is the last thing Yzma needs."

"The Second attack happened right before the meeting of the dueling club," Payson added, "And Yzma had placed Snape in charge considering he only teaches the three highest years in defense and NEWT level potions class. That of course meant that Yzma had to send Felix or Victoria to support and keep him in check. Still for all of his issues Snape takes teaching defense very seriously."

"And it's the same with NEWT level potions," Zeus Potter spoke, "Professor Bathory was a strict but fair teacher but Snape is much tougher and stricter. Still, he had nothing but good things to say about the transfer students from Ilvermorny. He also wonders why Yzma and Abigail didn't think to bring in Bathory sooner to cover potions."

"Considering his much lighter workload Snape has been busy writing books," said Charlus, "His book Potions for experts has supplied good results for master potion makers but the Ministry banned it's use in Hogwarts. Considering the contents, I don't blame them."

"I do however blame their protocols," said Abraham, "Magical Britain has very sloppy protocols."

"You got that right but considering Fudge is nothing more than Malfoy's puppet it's only a matter of time before he boots Alaric out of his position as Chief of Staff," Iris said, "And we have enough problems of our own ever since that toad monster attacked America and Ilvermorny."

"I thought that Ilvermorny was supposed to be a safe place," Daisy said. "And so, what the United States of America."

"So did I," Victor added, "What the feck is happening over there?"

"Ilvermorny has been cursed," said Leilani, "You know how we have the Truth Will Out Bylaw just as the MACUSA has the Truth Will Out Bill?"

"We know that Leilani," Carol said, "In fact Yzma wants the British Ministry of Magic to follow the MACUSA's protocols once she wins her challenge just as Hogwarts follows Ilvermorny Protocols when it comes to discipline. The Truth Will Out Bill being passed as a result of Yzma winning her challenge and being put into play right away will help with that."

"That unfortunately is the core problem," Fleamont said, "Dad has discovered traces of a second virus that the Toad monster must've triggered before Belloc destroyed it. It's spread far and wide across all of North America and it's empowering those who share the mindset of whoever not only created the virus but also whoever helped create the monster. Those who believe in the Truth Will Out Bill and Truth Will Out bylaw are suffering the worst of the effects of the virus."
