Lloyd's POV
_______________

As I shifted in bed, a sharp pain shot through my hip, causing me to mutter, "Dammit!" and sit up. Applying pressure to the area, I glanced at Kai, who was fast asleep. Trying to piece together my surroundings, I realized I must be in my room. A memory suddenly flooded back; I had been 'training' with Nya and Kai, and then Nya had attacked me. I'm pretty sure the Overlord possessed her since I had seen a purple hue in her eyes when I looked at her.

I shook my head, trying to rid myself of the memory and the pain from Nya's kick. I should've helped her more than I did. "Stop resisting!" Nya's voice echoed in my mind. It wasn't real, just a memory. So why did the voice feel so real?

Kai's mumbling pulled me back to reality. "Nya, you're hurting him...Lloyd? LLOYD!" he yelled, jolting awake. I felt another shock of pain go up my hip as I shifted uncomfortably. I had learned to ease those headaches somewhat before, but I had made another mistake by not doing so this time. I should've calmed myself down-Kai might've been less stressed about this.

Kai sat up with a concerned face. "Thank god you're awake. Are you alright? She was pretty violent with you." He questioned. I nodded, smiling sheepishly. "Where are the others?" I asked. "I think they said they were going to train," Kai said.

The room was quiet, and I could feel the tension building. I turned to Kai and asked, "Okay. Do you want to join them with me?" Suddenly, Kai stood up, his eyes flashing with concern. "Absolutely not, Lloyd. You need rest; I'm not letting you pass out again."

I protested, "I'll be fine, Kai!" But he wasn't having any of it. Kai's voice was firm as he asked, "Lloyd, I'm being serious. Have the other injuries had any lasting effects on you? I don't see any other reason why you would pass out." I hesitated momentarily, feeling the sharp pain in my head, before looking away. The last thing I wanted was to worry Kai.

"No, it was just a small headache. I don't know why I passed out." I lied, looking back into his eyes. Kai went over to me. "I know it's difficult for you to talk about your wounds, but I need you to be truthful. I want to help you." He said. My eyes started stinging, and I could feel tears swimming around. Damn it. Now's not the time to be a crybaby, Lloyd. "Kai, I'm fine! I swear, I don't know why I passed out."

Don't blink. Don't blink; it'll make this situation worse. "Tell me what's going on. I know you're lying." Kai said. "Let's just go train. Please." I mumbled. My eyes forced me to blink, and I hid my face from Kai. Tears rolled down my cheeks until I wiped them away. Kai stared at me with concern. "I really don't want to talk about that," I said. Kai sighed. "Fine. Just...please don't be hard on yourself. Tell me when you're ready to talk about it."

As we stepped into the training room, Nya ran over. "Lloyd, I'm so sorry; I didn't mean to hurt you." She said, her eyes widening. Nya started raising her hand to my face but then forced it down. Kai left and started training with the others. "It's alright, Nya," I said. As Nya tried to hug me, I flinched and raised my arms to guard my face. Holy shit..what the hell was that all about?

Her face fell, and she seemed mad at herself for something. "I'm sorry. My reflexes are probably just overreacting," I said. Nya smiled and shrugged, then pulled me into an actual hug. "Let's go train!" Nya exclaimed, pulling out of the hug. I nodded, and we both rushed over to the others.

TIME SKIPP!

Nya and I entered the kitchen, and she grabbed two glasses of water. "Here you go!" She said, handing me one. "Thanks, Nya." I said, holding it and taking a sip. She placed hers on the table and looked at me. "Y'know how I showed you what I could do on the beach?" Nya asked. I nodded.
