I scanned the crowd for him, but couldn't see anyone that matched the amazing scent.
Before I could keep looking, I was pushed through the crowed and toward the pack house.
The smell got stronger, which meant that he was inside.
"Where are we going?" I asked the beta.
He let me go, and I took my chance. I ran for the door, and I almost made it. But just as I got there and was about to open the door, I was punched in my jaw.
"What the hell?" I yelled as I got up off the floor. i looked to see who punched me and it turned out to be my favorite person in the whole world! Note the sarcasm.
"What's your name?" I asked him. I couldn't just keep calling him beta forever.
Instead if answering my question, he put my hands behind my back again and pushed me toward the stairs. "Talon" he mumbled as we were walking. Cool name, I thought.
"Mines Zoe." I said, feeling like I should reciprocate the answer.
We passed a mirror, and I gasped. I stopped walking, and talon wasn't expecting it, therefore causing him to fall on his face.
I went back to the mirror to inspect myself. There was a huge bruise where talon punched me.
He tried unsuccessfully to hide a chuckle.
Once we made it up the stairs, he stopped me in front of a giant oak door.
When he hit me, my wolf recoiled into my mind, so I could no longer use her sense of smell to find my mate.
Talon went into the room, most likely to get the alpha. I was so nervous.
I was literally standing at death's door.
The door opened and Tallon called me in.
