It was like nothing I'd ever felt before.
I mean, of course I'd kissed Brandon, my old boyfriend, but it was nothing like this.
Brandon was always rough, and always wanted more, but with Damien, it was gentle, like he was afraid I'd break. He released my arms so that he could tangle his hands in my messy hair, pulling me closer.
I should really brush that soon.
I brought my arms down and wound them around his neck, playing with his hair.
By now, we had attracted quite at crowd, and I heard quite a few wolf whistles. It's not every day that you see your alpha making out on the ground in front of the pack house.
Someone cleared their throat, and Damien growled, obviously not liking the interruption.
I got my senses back and pulled away, motioning for him to get off me, but he just smirked and wouldn't move.
I sighed, smiling, and looked toward the source of the noise, seeing a six inch heel. I followed it up to see a bottle blonde with waaaaaaaay to much makeup on. She had her arms crossed and was glaring down at me.
" wanna tell me why your making out with my boyfriend, rogue?" She spoke slowly, like I wouldn't understand what she was saying.
I winced. Her voice was so high pitched that I had to fight the urge to cover my ears.
The her words registered in my head.
My wolf, who had returned from her little visit, was growling and muttering things like skank, boyfriend, bitch, mine, mate, things like that.
I looked to Damien, who stiffened when he heard her voice. He jumped to his feet.
I got up myself, and waited for him to start talking.
I expected him to do what all male werewolves did when they had a girlfriend and found their mates, which was tell the truth and break it off, so I was shocked when he pulled her into a hug.
He led her into the pack house, leaving me standing there, like an idiot.
She pulled him to a stop, smirking at me, before pulling him down and kissing him.
I was silently begging him to push her away, say we were mates, and pull me next to him, but he just pulled away and continued walking her into the house.
I decided I wasn't going to take this, so I yelled to him my goodbye. "Some mate you were. Thanks for nothing, jackass."
I heard gasps from the crowd and I smirked. He can deal with a bunch of angry wolves wanting him to get their future Luna back.
I turned my back and headed for the woods I came from.
No one stopped me.
I knew I never wanted a mate, and I felt Damien's wolf enter my mind.
It was weird. I could hear him and my wolf talking. Him apologizing for Damien's behavior, directed to me.
He and my wolf nuzzled together, and I blocked them out. I didn't want to see how happy they were together, because they would never see each other again after we left.
I was nearing the border, so I let them know it was time to say goodbye.
Damien's wolf, whose name I learned was Nathan, left my mind. I apologized to my wolf, Athena, and then crossed the border out of his territory, shifting into my auburn wolf, matching my hair color, and ran away from my disappointment of a mate.
Not noticing the wolf that was following me.
