Chapter six- she'll be back

I shifted back and sat on a rock crying my eyes out while I got dressed. I sat ad stared at the lake in front of me.

I should've known he didn't like me, he didn't even ask me my name, which was Zoe.

Athena whined "go back"

"We can't Athena, I'm sorry but Damien doesn't want us. "

"But I want Nathan. " She howled.

I shook my head and she receded to the back of my mind. I felt horrible doing this to her but I couldn't go back there. I was not going to look like a fool.

I sighed. "Suppose I should get going." I said to no one in particular.

I jumped off the rock and headed back out into the woods to continue my life as a rogue.

DAMIEN POV

I walked heather back into the house, ready to break it off, when I heard my mate yell after me, "some mate you are!" and run into the woods.

It hurt, but as long as she doesn't leave our territory, she can go wherever she wants.

Heather stopped and glared at me. "Why were you kissing that ugly slut?" she screamed at me.

I growled at her "that BEAUTIFUL GIRL is my mate. So we're finished.

She stomped out of my house and I sat down, waiting for my mate to come back.

(Nathan 'his wolf' is in caps)

"Nathan?"

"WHAT DO YOU WANT YOU ASS?"

"What's our mate's name?"

"ZOE. BUT YOU'LL PROBABLY NEVER SEE HER AGAIN SO WHAT DOES IT MATTER."

I jumped off the couch and ran outside.

"Where's Tallon!?" I yelled.

A young boy walked up to me and told me, "he chased after that girl you were kissing."

Just then, Tallon walked through the trees. I ran over to him, expecting to see Zoe come out. When she didn't I felt my eyes darken, while Nathan just whimpered in my head.

"I followed her to the edge of the territory, but I couldn't keep going once she crossed the border. I'm sorry man, but she's gone," he panted, out of breath from the run.

I fell to my knees. Gone. Gone. All I could think was gone. That, and the question why. Why would she just leave, I mean I thought things were going pretty well...

"BECAUSE SHE THINKS YOU CHOSE HEATHER OVER HER, YOU IDIOT!" Nathan screamed in my head. He was mad.

Wait.

"How do you know that?"

"ATHENA LET ME LOOK AT HER THOUGHTS," he said smugly.

I rejoiced at the thought. If her wolf trusts Nathan so much, then she'll want to come back. And if her wolf wants to come back, Zoe will have to.

And I'll be waiting for her when she does.
