7 | the accident

"Skye! Hana's on the phone!" Christine said, holding her phone in her hand, "Coming!"

Skylar Blake, Sam's twin, came downstairs, she walked over to her mother, taking the phone and putting it up to her ear, "Hi Hana! What's up?" Skylar asked into the phone, "hey, wanna have a sleepover tonight?"

"yeah, sure, I'll start packing right now!"

Hana, Skylar's friend, laughed into the phone, "okay, see you soon."

"Bye, Hana." She said before she hung up the phone and gave it back to Christine, "I'm going to go pack!" She said as she ran to go upstairs to her and Sam's shared room.

"Hey, no running inside!"

"Sorry, Mom!" Skylar said as she got into their bedroom, she went to grab her bag and began to pack.

"What are you doing? Are you running away?" Sam asked her, looking up from his comic book, "no silly, I'm sleeping over at Hana's." Skylar explained, "wait, by yourself?"

Skylar looked at him, "yeah, it'll be like a girl's night, no boys."

"Uh, how long will you be gone?" Sam asked, he sat and looked at her.

"I don't know, one night? two?" She said, she didn't really know.

"but, uh, won't you m- miss your big brother?"

She stopped, "we're twins, we're the same age."

"Y- yeah, but by five minutes, I- I'm older."

She looked at him, smiling, "aww, you're going to miss me."

"w- who says that I'll miss you?"

"let's see, You only stutter when you are going to miss me or you're embarrassed. You're going to miss me."

"Okay, fine! I'll miss you." Sam said, he just looked away, "Don't worry, it's only for like one night, Sammy, I'll be home before you know it."

He looked at her, "promise?"

"Promise," she smiled, suddenly they heard a click, they turned and saw Christine in the door way, holding a camera, "Mom!" They both said in sync.

"what? I can't take pictures of my favorite twins?" She asked, jokingly.

"yes, but not right now please!" Skylar said.

"Alright," Christine said as she walked up to them, "are you done packing?" She asked Skylar before she kissed both their heads.

"Almost," she said to Christine, she then packed up a few things, "alright I'm done."

"Okay, Go to the car, Aunt Jude is dropping you off."

"Okay," Skylar swung her bag over her shoulder and began to walk out, "wait, Skye, you forgot Elliot." Skylar turned and Saw Sam get up from his bed, grabbing her stuffed animal that was an elephant, "No I didn't, I left him for you, so you can have something of mine until I get back." Skylar explained.
