After a week from that.. awful day, Sam and Carl were helping Cody how to throw a ball at the basket, out back, "throw it," Sam said, standing behind his brother, who was holding up the orange ball high above his head, looking up at the netting, "it's too high, Sammy."

"Just try, Code."

Cody exhaled as he closed his eyes and then threw the ball up in the air, not making it into the basket.

Sam clapped his hands together, pretending the ball went through the netting, even though it just went straight in the air and came straight down again, not higher then Carl's height, "you did it!"

Cody opened his eyes, "huh?" He asked, looking to see the ball was in front of him on the grass, he smiled, "I did!" He threw his hands in the air with joy, "Yay!" He jumped up and down as he flapped his hands rapidly out of happiness.

"Now he's doing 'happy hands'," Sam said as he smiled, watching his brother jump around.

"He's been doing that since." Carl spoke, standing by Sam, looking at him, "yeah, but it's probably nothing, probably just him being him, like every time you say the word," he leaned closer to Carl, "Ice cream, he either does the happy hands or just be very excited." He whispered.

"Just like me!" Carl said, jokingly.

Sam laughed, "yeah, kinda, except for waffles, almost all the time."

"Are you saying waffles are not good?"

"No, I'm just saying that you get happy over waffles."

"Because it's the best breakfast food ever made! Especially with the Hawaiian punch!"

Sam laughed more, shaking his head lightly, "Hawaiian punch? Are you sure you're not five?"

"I'm not five, but I'm almost six, sixteen to be exact!"

Sam smiled and kissed Carl's cheek, "okay then-"

They heard a knock on the back door, the three turned their heads and looked, seeing Christine standing there looking at them while smiling, she opened the door and walked outside.

"Mommy!" Cody said as he ran over to his mother, jumping into her arms, giving her a hug.

"Oh! I missed your hugs so much!" Christine spoke, hugging her youngest son, holding him in her arms, smiling.

"Hey, what about mine?"

Christine looked at Sam, smiling wider, "yours too," she said as she went and gave him a side hug, since Cody didn't let go.

"Cody, let go before you get too heavy."

Cody shook his head at Sam, "no, mommy is home!" He said, not letting go of his mother.

Christine just held Cody in her arms, looking at him, "I missed you, Cody bear."

"I missed you, Mommy." Cody said as he smiled.

"Mom, did you hear what Sam did yesterday?" Ava asked her mother as they were setting up the dining table before dinner, "what happened?"
