"S- Skye..?"

Sam let go of the button on the side,
waiting for an answer, he then heard a click and static came through.

He pressed the button again, "Skye? Hello?"

After a minute, he sighed, sitting down on his bed, swallowing as he was thinking.

Was it actually her? But how? Skye has been dead for years

Was he going crazy? Was he just hearing things?

"Sam?"

He grabbed the radio again and held it close to his face, "Hello? Sky-"

"Sammy, you okay? I've been trying to reach you,"

Sam sighed again before speaking, "hey Carl. yeah, I'm fine, just a little tired I guess."

"Why don't you get some sleep? It might help,"

"I will."

"I love you, Sammy."

"I, um.. I gotta go, talk to you later." Sam spoke into the small black radio before letting go of the button again, setting it down in his lap, falling backwards onto his bed, laying on his back, looking at the ceiling, "I don't think the medicine is working,"

Later that night, Sam woke up sweating, he sat up and yelled in shock and fear as he looked around the room, he took a couple deep breaths before turning to look at the clock on his side table, 1 am.

Sam just shook his head lightly and closed his eyes again, trying to calm himself down.

"It was just a dream, calm down." He whispered to himself, "it was just a fucking dream!" He said, slapping his forearm, then pinching his skin tightly, tears welling up in his eyes.

Sam then heard his door open, he turned and saw his mother standing there in the doorway in her black night gown.

"Mom.."

"Sam, what is it?" Christine asked worriedly as she rushed over to her oldest, sitting on the bed, pulling him into her side, her hand placed on his forehead.

"Sam, you're burning up."

"It was just a dream.." he mumbled to himself again, over and over.

Christine turned and grabbed Sam's dark green backpack, opening the front pocket, pulling out the bottle with the blue capsule pills, opening it and pouring out three, giving them to Sam.

Sam just sobbed quietly as he took the capsules, swallowing them with his water, he leaned into his mother's side again, hugging his knees, staring at his blanket that was pushed back in front of him on the bed, he just took a shaky breath as he continued to cry softly.

Christine wrapped her arms around him, rocking him gently, "shh, it's okay."

"I'm sorry!" Sam said as he closed his eyes, not wiping his tears away, he didn't care anymore, he just was scared, from his dream, but it almost felt like he had that dream before, it felt familiar and he didn't like it one bit.
