Sarah stood up and followed after Sam, going to help him with whatever happened.

Sam was leaning against the wall in the big hallway, breathing heavily, just staring into space.

"Sam, what's going on?"

Sam blinked his tears away and looked at Sarah, "N- Nothing."

"That didn't look like nothing. Tell me what happened. Was it an episode?"

"Jesus! Can everyone just stop asking me that?" Sam asked loudly, looking at his best friend.

"Sam just calm down, breathe."

Sam shook his head lightly and sat down on the floor, his back against the wall still, looking at the blue lockers in front of him, taking deep breaths.

"Did you take it at lunch? Or at all this week?"

"Yeah I took 'em. But I'm not sure they're working."

"What do you mean?" Sarah asked as she kneeled down in front of him, looking at him.

"I mean the medicine, the pills, it's not working. They don't stop me from having the fucking episodes." Sam explained, taking his hat off out of frustration, exhaling deeply.

Sarah just watched him, "have you.. tried talking to someone? Maybe a doctor or therapist?"

Sam looked at her, "yeah, like they can fix it and stop me from having to wake up every other night sweating from an episode." He said sarcastically.

Sarah went and sat beside him, sighing, "then what's going to happen?"

"I don't know, I guess just wait until school's over."

"That's about another four hours, Sam."

Sam looked at her, "why?"

Sarah looked at him, exhaling, "the school wants all the students in the gym for something, I'm not sure why."

Sam closed his eyes, leaning his head against the wall, sighing, "great,"

Sarah looked at him, placing her hand on his thigh, "you'll be fine, as long as you take the meds."

"I told you earlier, it's not working." Sam spoke softly as he went and leaned his head down, laying it on her left shoulder.

"Well, maybe you can talk to a doctor about it or something."

Sam didn't speak, he just exhaled, leaving them to sit in silence for a while until he broke it again.

"I saw Skye,"

Sarah looked at him with her eyes slightly widen, "you did?"

"Yeah, she um.. she looked like the day before she died, but with glass and blood on her."

Sarah swallowed, "is that why you yelled?"

"She kept saying how I broke the promise and that I never do," Sam sighed as he spoke, "I- I just couldn't take seeing her like that so I just s- snapped."
