Bucky burst through the door not long after Pietro had finished. He moved between Pietro and I, his head and tail held high.

I took that as an opportunity to change myself, it took me less than a minute before a German Shepherd took my place.

When I finished my transformation, I could hear Bucky explaining to Pietro what had happened to him.

Pietro managed to sit up, he was panting with the effort.

"I tried to keep him calm, he wasn't having any of it. He doesn't believe me," I informed Bucky.

"I wouldn't have either," Bucky admitted.

Pietro went back to sleep after he'd calmed down.

I laid down in front of him, Bucky put himself behind Pietro.

It was good for new walkers to have contact with their pack.

Pietro seemed either too tired to care, or he could feel the effects of us being nearby.

We slept for the remainder of the night after that incident.

Bucky woke us up bright and early the next day, Pietro seemed less pleased about it than I did.

Bucky snapped at him as soon as the complaints started, "You need to learn to change back, and after you learn how to do that you need to learn how to control yourself,".

Pietro's ears flattened.

I stretched out the tiredness and aches from yesterday's battle.

"Will you catch us a few rabbits for breakfast?" Bucky asked, looking at me, "There were plenty of scents," he added.

I nodded, sparing Pietro a glance, "Are you going to teach him?" I asked.

Bucky nodded, "You taught me, I can teach him,".

We stared at each other for a few moments before I headed out the door. The soft dirt felt nice beneath my paws.

It didn't take me long to pile up three fat hares.

Pietro and Bucky were outside in their human forms when I returned. They were wearing some old, ratty-looking clothes. Bucky was starting a fire.

I dropped the hares in front of Bucky before I shifted back myself. Bucky draped a blanket over my shoulders when I had finished.

"How are you Pietro?" I asked, sitting beside him.

"This is... a lot to process," he answered after a moment.

I nodded my head in agreement, "It was for me at first too, it'll get easier to shift the more you do it," I informed him, sitting down on the ground beside him.

We watched Bucky in silence as he made quick work of the hares before he put them over the fire.
