It is about my height and pale greenish in color. It is obviously some kind of monster and it growls as it approaches me. I back away. “Rrrrrgggghhhh...” it says again. “Zombie,” I whisper.

“Umm...” I mutter. “Friends? See?” I smile.

It continues to advance and then its outstretched arms touch me and a bolt of pain sears my hand where it touches. “Ow!” I begin to run backwards, but another searing pain grips my spine. I whirl look around. There’s something behind me, white and hollow and thin. “Skeleton.” It holds a bow in its hand and I look at my back and see an arrow sticking out. A sick feeling passes over me. I have to get it out. I reach back and yank out the arrow, wincing in pain.

Suddenly I know “friends” isn’t gonna work. I run. I need to find a shelter. Soon. I come to the side of a hill and look back. The zombie is still there. The skeleton appears to have forgotten me. I begin to dig into the hill.

Soon I have a small hole. I pile up the dirt I have collected in the doorway, and sit shivering in the dark. Suddenly the world doesn’t seem so beautiful. I wonder what other horrors await me.

I press myself into the dirt, listening to the night sounds. “Eeek! Eeek!” A bat flies into my hole. I flinch as it’s papery wings brush my face. “Out.” I hit the bat with my stick and it leaves.

I hear sheep and cows blended into the sounds of monsters. A strange, distorted sound echoes around me. I don’t want to know. I really don’t. Then a spitting noise, and I see red eyes outside. I don’t want that to attack me. I think it is a spider.

Finally I decide to try to sleep, but I can’t. I am too afraid.

Suddenly everything goes wrong. A green, slimy face appears at my window. It has two black eyes and a frowny gaping mouth. It is making a strange hissing noise. It’s skin turns white and it quivers. “Oh my god,” I think. I press myself against the back of my hole and try to dig further. I close my eyes as the hissing noise gets louder: “sssssSSSSSSSSS!”

Then it explodes, spreading green slime everywhere. The explosion rocks my body and I feel multiple shocks of pain. I know that I am severely hurt. My shelter is destroyed. Pieces of dirt are scattered around the hill. I pick up the dirt, knowing it might be useful later.

The zombie is back. And a spider is coming. I know that this is the end. “This beautiful world,” I whisper. “The end of this beautiful world.”

Then I hear the strange, distorted sound again. I estimate that every monster in the whole field can hear my heart beating. The zombie closes in, and the spider. I cannot yet tell what is making the strange distorted sound.

“Grrrrrgghhh,” says the zombie. “Pwsshhht!” says the spider. I grab a stick and hit the zombie, then the spider but they just bounce back. The spider finds its mark and hits me. I fall backwards and the world begins to fade. I see the zombie coming in for the final kill, and I close my eyes. Pain courses through my body but I don’t react anymore.

Then it happens. All of a sudden, the zombie and the spider suddenly die. Their bodies fall to earth and disintigrate. I know that for now, I am safe, but I don’t remain conscious long enough to set eyes upon my savior.

~Who could it be? Who else in this world would save her?~
