A/N: later on in this chapter I directly reference a specific smosh video, I've put it above. I only talk about the beginning in this chapter so please pause where it does in the story. The rest of the video will be gone over in the next chapter and I'll put it there too. Ok that's it. Go read!
Damien offered to walk me to the door and I agreed. He started up some small talk as we walked. "You really are light huh kid?" He said with a slight chuckle.
"Kid? I doubt I'm much younger than you." I responded with a laugh of my own.
"When were you born?"
"It's funny actually, my birthday is the one from the script."
"No way! That's great. Wait, you're only four years younger than me? Damn, I've got some work to do then." He rested his hands on his stomach.
"I mean, I am a lot shorter than you and muscle weighs more than fat. Plus, a bit of squish is the best body type. It's the best to hug and snuggle with, men who are just muscle aren't as comforting." Why the fuck did I just say that.... What am I doing?
"So you like hugs then, huh?" He chuckled again.
"I-I-I mean yeah, they're the best! It just resets you and makes both people feel better than they did before the hug." Dude. Stuttering there? Now you just look like a flustered idiot. You just met him! If you make him feel awkward now and end up getting hired it's never gonna get better, first impressions are the most important.
"Noted." We walked in silence for a moment not knowing what to talk about. I then saw he was wearing a my hero academia shirt.
"I like your shirt by the way." I said with a smile.
"Thanks! I like yours too! You watch?"
"Yeah, I really like MHA, it's great."
"Yeah same." We had reached the door. "Well here we are!" He turned to me, held his arms out for a hug, and smirked jokingly. I laughed and went in for the hug. My arms were around his waist and his where around my shoulders, one hand rested on the back of my head. Since I'm shorter than him my head rested just under his chin. It was such a comforting hug. Just such a beautiful moment. After a bit we let go. "Well, I should go. I have a shoot in a bit. I'm really looking forward to working with you again soon!"
"Yeah same! Hopefully I'll see you around." We waved goodbye and went our separate ways.
Once I'd gotten to my car I let out my excitement so I could drive safely. "Ohmygod, ohmygod, OHMYGOD!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT JUST HAPPENED OH MY GOD I'M GOING TO WORK AT SMOSH!!!!! AND DAMIEN!!?!?!!???!!? THAT HUG!?!!??!?! OH. MY. GOD. THAT MAN IS SO GREAT OH LORD I'M TOO GAY FOR THIS AHHHHHH OH MY GODDDDDDD!!!!" As I ranted to myself I was flapping my arms around to help get the emotion out. I took a couple deep breaths before putting my address into my GPS. As I was pulling up my music I heard a tap on my window. It was Damien. Shit. How long was he there? Fuuuuuckkk... I rolled the window down. "What's up Damien?"
"Hey sorry, after I got back Shayne handed me this" He handed me my wallet. Then his phone rang. "Sorry I really gotta get to the shoot. I'll see ya later!" And with that he took off back inside. I chuckled to myself as I rolled my window back up. I took a couple more deep breaths, played my music, and off I went. After I was driving for a couple minutes I got a call from my roommate Alex.
"Sup Dingus"
"Hey Alex, what's up."
"I was just about to order some food, how far away are you? Want something?"
"I'm about five minutes out. What sounds good to you? I could stop and pick something up if you want."
"Nah, you deserve a little celebration after your interview. What would you want?"
"Hmm... How about that nice cafe place?"
"Ooooh yeah! You want your sandwich and iced coffee again?"
"Yeah"
"I'm getting you two iced coffees."
"What? Why?"
"Oh come on, you always finish the one and wish you had more. Plus you deserve it. I'm getting you two."
"Ok, ok" I said through a laugh.
"Well I'll see you soon!"
"Yep, bye!" Alex hung up the phone. I got home soon after. Alex stood up off the couch after I got inside.
"Ok, I want to know everything!"
"Oh come on, it was just an interview"
"No! It was for smosh!" Alex is a huge smosh fan.
"Ok, ok. Let me get changed." I went to my room and grabbed a hoodie and some sweat pants and changed out of my dress clothes as well as took my shoes off. Then went on Sat on the couch with Alex. They had pulled up a bored af video we hadn't seen yet. Angela, Courtney, Spencer, Shayne, and Damien were playing a game called moose master. They hadn't played the video yet, just had it queued up.
"Wanna watch this while we wait for our food to get here?" Alex asked as they turned to me.
"Yeah sure." They played the video. The first couple rules they had on the table where they couldn't say yes or touch their face. Courtney explained there were two blank cards they could write their own rules on.
"And it may or may not be family guy related." Damien joked with a smirk and everyone laughed. They then started the game. Spencer immediately got three penalty cards. Damien was last to put antlers up when Shayne called moose master so Shayne got to give him a rule. He wasn't allowed to use his thumbs and spoke in a silly accent when he read the card just cause. Spencer drew a bomb and had to draw another penalty card. Then there was a knock at the door. Alex paused the video and went to go grab our food. They came back with our food and drinks. I was happy to see that they put my two iced coffees in one large cup which made me feel a little less bad about drinking that much coffee. After we both had had a couple of bites of our food Alex piped up.
"So, are you gonna tell me about your interview?"
"I mean, it went really well so that's cool." I took a sip of my iced coffee.
"Oh come on, we both know you like talking about stuff like this just spit it out!"
"Ok, ok, fine." I rolled my eyes. "Once my interview started the girl interviewing me, as well as Ian, both told me they didn't have much interviewing to do."
"Oh…" Alex replied sadly.
"Because they already loved me so much!"
"OH!"
"Yeah! So they wanted to have me do a chemistry read with Shayne and Damien-"
"SHAYNE AND DAMIEN?!?!!!??" They cut me off.
"Yes, Shayne and Damien" I laughed, "we did like an interrogation of Shaynes 'I was there man' character. I was bad cop and Damien was good cop. It was really fun! At the end of it Damien picked me up while I was flailing and trying to get at Shayne. It was so funny!"
"Wait wait wait. Damien, as in Damien Haas, PICKED YOU UP?!" Alex's eyes were wide with excitement.
"I KNOW RIGHT? HE LITERALLY HELD ME LIKE I WEIGHED NOTHING!" It was hard not to join their excitement. "OH AND GUESS WHAT! He offered to walk me out after we finished, right, we were talking. He said, 'you really are light kid' so I was like, 'what? We're like that same age' then he made a comment about his own weight and I kinda fucked up and kinda ranted about how he has the best body type and he'd be the best to hug and once we got to the door HE HUGGED ME and it was literally the best hug on the planet oh my god! It was so comforting and just- MMMM!"
"Oh my god! When you get hired, you HAVE to let me meet everyone. That's literally insane, I'd place money on y'all getting together." We both laughed for a while. After we'd stopped Alex spoke again, "so? Wanna finish this video?" They said with a chuckle.
