Kenjiro POV

The fear in the last alive ninja's eyes was frighteningly visible.

They were obviously lower rank Ninja.

Not saying much since we were just out of the academy ourselves, but we were obviously more skilled than your average chunin.

He fumbles over his words for a few seconds before finally getting his act together and speaking up, saying

"W-we were sent to kill the bridge builder by Gato."

"Who's Gato?" I hear Ronin whisper from his own spot in the trees

"The proclaimed richest man in the world, really just a criminal who leads a gang of thugs." Our sensei says in response to Ronin.

"R-right. We were told there was a bridge builder that would ruin his control over the land of waves being transported by Leaf Nin."

"And so you attacked the first squad you saw out here, no matter who it was. No?"

He nods his head furiously in response to Ki-Sensei nearly shaking in fear. Holding onto a thread of hope that he would get to leave alive.

"How many of there are you."

"Four of us came here, the other two went to another squad we found."

I widened my eyes slightly, realizing that the squad he was talking about was the one that contained my cousin

"Sasuke's squad. They're the ones escorting the bridge builder."

"Oh?" Ki says in response to what I say without even turning back towards me, "Okay then, thank you for your kind help sir."

"C-can I go?"

"No."

The sound of her throwing a kunai through his throat sounds out, as the gargling sounds of him straining to breathe, choking on his on blood drowns out the silence of the forest, As we all watch him claw at his neck in desperation.

Before the light in his eyes ultimately dies out his body laying limp beneath us.

"Was it necessary to kill him?"

"Yes it was Ronin. Would you rather he live and report that we're here too? As Anbu we must leave no witnesses."

The question was really a dumb one, in all honesty. He had no problem killing one of the assassins' comrades earlier. So why show any form of compassion now?

"Do whatever you need to do. We leave at the beginning of sunrise."

"Hai" we all say in response.

Both my teammates give curt nods as we move through the trees, while I just stay focused on what is ahead of me.

I don't respond in any type of way.

"That means you, Kenjiro. Do not fear for your fellow Uchiha."

"Nobody is fearing for anything. Do not get lost in your own delusion, sensei"

The venom leaking from my voice was very audible, as my disdain for her condescending statement shows.

"Good. there's no time to worry about outsiders."
