"Today we have a special announcement!" Blared the radio. "As you know, the gods have declared a contest and whomever wins shall become a god or goddess."
Annabeth and Thalia caught each other's eyes and Thalia spoke. "I didn't hear about this," she told the group. Artemis smiled.
"Yes, we picked the demigods that were most worthy and placed them into a drawing. You didn't have to enter or anything. Isn't that wonderful?" Annabeth and Percy looked at each other. What if one of them won?
"So, they going to pick a name now," the announcer continued. "As camp director of camp half blood, I feel like it's very important for me to announce this."
Chiron! Thalia smiled. "What if it was one of us?" She laughed. Artemis smiled at Thalia.
"You are wise, girl," she told Thalia. "Perhaps it will be you."
"And now, for the winner," Chiron stated, with a long pause. "Zeus is pulling the name out right now."
"Annabeth Jackson, formally Chase, you are the new goddess of building!" You could hear Chiron's pride through his voice.
"Oh, Annabeth, fighter in the titan war, ran away from home when she was young, helped to redesign Olympus after the titan war. Oh Annabeth, I helped her train."
Back in the elevator, Percy was zoned out. He was staring at Annabeth like he was scared, alone, and tired. Thalia screamed...and that was the last image Madisyn, her husband, Percy, and Thalia saw before blacking out.
