Friday evening soon arrived but the very last thing Andy felt like doing was going to dinner with the rich guy who had successfully stolen the land that he had wanted so much to hold on to. Money really does talk he thought to himself and there was nothing he could do. He kept telling himself it was just a piece of land, a field with an old shed on it but it was the principle.

How many times had rich people come into his life and stolen the things he held dear, the first time it was his mother and then minor things just because he couldn't afford them and now the one place that was his escape from the real world.

He would go to the football field when no one else was around, drag a bench outside the shed and just sit and listen to the sounds of nature, the birds singing, the breeze fluttering through the trees, there was even a little hedgehog that lived in the shed and he would take cat food and feed it every day. He hadn't told the guys about it because he thought they would laugh at him.

It was hard enough being the youngest member and looking like a kid without being treated like one too. He decided to suck it up and get showered and changed, at least Champ and the guys would be there.

Apparently the guy called Lon had hired a mini bus to pick them up at their local pub and transport them to a fancy restaurant in town.

He bathed and dressed in black jeans, a white tee shirt and a peach coloured over shirt. He looked smart without being too dressy because he didn't know where they were going. Champ had said the dress code was casual so he knew it wasn't somewhere too posh. They were all meeting at 6.30pm and it was 6.15pm so he grabbed his things and set off.

When he arrived, all the gang were there in high spirits, they didn't seem to care that they had lost their club, on the contrary they were all excited about being whisked off to some fancy restaurant.

He couldn't help but feel bitter, these were his friends and he felt like he didn't really know them, admittedly he was closest to Champ and Kan, god only knew what Kan was going to say when he got back from Thailand after visiting his grandparents.

They all congregated outside waiting for the mini bus which arrived earlier than expected and Andy went to sit near the back. Champ almost didn't make it because of his job but after jumping on the bus and high fiving a few of the guys he made his way to sit beside Andy.

"you alright mate?" he asked after he sat down.

"yeah, as right as I'll ever be, I guess" Andy replied.

"you look nice, that colour suits you" Champ said.

"cheers mate, so do you" Andy said as he looked Champ up and down and saw he was wearing pants and a white shirt.

"not very often we see you in pants and shirts" Andy continued.

"I thought I'd make an effort" he shrugged.

They both put their heads back and rested while they were transported to the venue, no one had any idea where it was. Soon the bus pulled up outside a large hotel & restaurant and they all clambered out of the bus to see Lon waiting for them.

He greeted them all individually but Andy managed to avoid him by telling Champ he needed to use the rest room which did not go unnoticed by Lon.

Lon had chosen his outfit carefully opting for teal coloured pants and a teal and white striped shirt. He had kept the top two buttons undone and in his ear he wore a dangling earring and he had styled his hair, he knew he looked good.

They all went inside and were directed to a large table which had been reserved for them and everyone got seated while Lon made sure he had an empty seat beside for Andy but when Andy came back from the rest rooms he went to the other end of the table and chose to sit beside Champ.
