Andy was so very lonely, it was eight day's since Lon had been called back to Thailand by his boss. It was unavoidable he said, apparently his boss needed to take some time off and there was a problem with one of the employees, that's all Lon could tell him.

Andy didn't understand why someone else couldn't handle the problem but he knew that Lon was his boss's best friend and trusted right hand man, perhaps it was something of a delicate nature?

It was three days after they had made love for the first time when Lon had received the call from his boss and Lon had taken him out for a meal on their last evening. They had spent most of the night making love, holding each other and making promises and the following day, Lon had packed up and left.

In the meantime, Andy's life was almost back to normal. His mobility was improving daily due to physio' and the stitches had been removed from the cut on his leg. He didn't need to rely on painkillers anymore, if only there was something he could take to make the pain go away in his heart?

According to Lon, they were boyfriends and he texted him every night, sometimes called him too and for a while after the contact he felt happy but then as he looked around his empty house the doubts soon set in again.

There was no sign that Lon had ever been there, no clothes hanging in the closet, no toothbrush in the bathroom, no work space on the dining room table, no 4x4 jeep parked outside and no muddy boots by the door.

When Andy felt really down he couldn't help feeling like he had just been a conquest. He was grateful for all the things that Lon had done for him since his accident but maybe that had all be part of his seduction plan?

Andy tried to tell himself he was being stupid but he really couldn't imagine a scenario where Lon would be returning and they were both going to live happily ever after. Lon had told him how he travelled a lot on business.

The tiny voice in his head whispered that perhaps he had a person in every city but he damped down those flames as quickly as they ignited, no, Lon wasn't like that but even so, what did he have to offer a person like Lon.

Andy now knew that Lon wasn't wealthy but neither was he poor. He received a very generous wage from his best friend and boss and he enjoyed special benefits such as use of the company jet or helicopter when needed.

He, on the other hand was a nobody, a humble animator earning a modest income and living in an average detached house in a small English village and he played football in his spare time or rather he had before his accident and before the field had been stolen away from them all.

Yes, it was still a very sore point even though he had come to terms with it. He was glad that he had rescued Thorntype and hopefully the pigeon had found somewhere else to roost. One positive was that he had met Ian who still visited every few day's and they had great fun catching up on drama's or discussing their favorite actors.

He was the only one who knew about Andy's 'so called' relationship and he was genuinely happy for him. He had also taken Andy to the physio' a couple of times because he couldn't drive himself yet.

There was a light at the end of the tunnel however, Kan was due home in a couple of weeks and Andy was looking forward to see his other close friend besides Champ and Ian. He wondered how Kan would react when he learnt about the field?

He had heard from Champ that the building work was still ongoing but it looked as if they were coming to the back end? They still couldn't see much over the hoarding but they could see the timber skeleton of a roof being erected so they were obviously building a property.

Lon didn't really say much when he called or texted, just random comments like how was your day? how is your ankle? did you eat? that kind of thing. Andy once told him that he didn't need to call if he was busy. If it turned out that they wouldn't be together then this was the only way he was going to get over Lon by cutting all contact.

Boyfriends? what boyfriends, they couldn't be together properly except for  the odd week or two when Lon travelled to the UK. Andy was kind of glad he hadn't plucked up the courage to tell his team mates that he was seeing a man, the pain of abandonment he felt was bad enough without any repercussions from coming out to the guys.

Lon was missing Andy like crazy, he had felt that a barrier was going up since he had returned to Thailand. He really didn't have any choice,  after spending many years alone and doing nothing but working, his best friend and boss had met someone and was taking some much deserved time off work while he courted him.

Unfortunately, Kiri's personal assistant Pang had been causing serious problems for Kiri and Lon had to take over the reigns because Kiri was so angry with Pang that he couldn't even be in the same room as him anymore.

Lon had been texting or calling Andy every day and he could tell that Andy was upset about something but now wasn't the time to ask while he was stuck in Thailand, he couldn't do anything about it.

He had come up with a few ideas that would enable them to be together, he just hoped that Andy would consider them. It was nice to get back home though, back to his apartment in the city and he also had a modest property in the countryside.

No he wasn't a billionaire but he was very comfortable, affluent you might say but he couldn't let Andy know that with his obvious hatred of wealthy people. He had needed time for Andy to get to know him first so he could see that he was a good person.

If everything went to plan, he could return to the UK in a few weeks, oversee the completion of the building work, see Andy and put his idea to him. It looked like everything would fall into place nicely. Lon had discovered that the guy Kiri was seeing was British too, well, half British and half thai.

It wasn't until Kiri had called him to pick up his crush from a house in the xxxx district that he had realized it was the same guy he had met several weeks ago when both he and Kiri were in the UK. It was the same village where Andy lived but of course he couldn't say anything to Andy because this was his best friends personal business.

Lon looked at the time and calculated what time it was in the UK. He wondered what Andy was doing? He worried if he was over doing things with his ankle or if he was doing anything else stupid like the fiasco with the shed?

In short, he missed Andy so much it was eating away at him. He couldn't sleep or eat properly, he couldn't even discuss it with Kiri because Kiri was spending all his time with his lover Kan but not to worry, it was almost lunchtime so he could call Andy and have a little chat.

It was awkward thinking of things to say when all he wanted to do was hold him in his arms, kiss him and make love to him. Everything he said sounded so banal but he hoped Andy knew just how much he loved him.

He hoped Andy would continue to wait for him.
