Chapter 14 ~ the missing boyfriend ~

Lon was in Paris at the moment helping Tar get settled into his new place and job. The building work was almost completed in the UK and he and Kiri were going to fly over, he was impatient to see Andy and find out what the hell was up with him?

Meanwhile, Andy was getting packed ready to go on a mini break with Ian. He had started avoiding Lon's texts and call's because as painful as it was he really couldn't see their dalliance going anywhere so what was the point?

He was meeting the guys at their local for a meal later on so he was also getting ready for that. When he arrived at the pub everyone was in high spirits. Kan had been back for several weeks now and it was so good to have him there but he looked kind of fed up.

The guys were talking about the usual subjects, where they were going on vacation, what's happening at work, girlfriends and crushes and then they all started teasing Kan about his love life. 

Kan took a deep breath and told everyone at the table that he had started seeing someone and that it was a guy and after a long moment of silence Champ piped up and said,

"let me guess, I bet it's that dude from the barbecue, he's fucking handsome guy's"

The guys all seemed interested in seeing photos of Kan's handsome boyfriend and he happily obliged until one of the team members, Keith started acting confrontational and aggressive.

It seemed that Keith wasn't too happy about being part of a group that had a "faggot" in it so after getting punched a few times by Champ he announced he was quitting the club and that right there was the end of the meal. 

Andy was dumbfounded that Kan had found himself a boyfriend and he wondered if he could talk to him about Lon but there didn't seem to be much point. The guys went home and Andy walked with Champ and Kan for a little while until they parted and went their separate ways.

When Andy got home he jumped in the shower and went to bed. He had purchased an automatic feeding dish for Thorntype so he didn't have to ask anyone to feed him. He hadn't actually told Champ or Kan he was going away nor had he introduced Ian to his football friends because he didn't want them to know he was a BL drama lover and closet fan boy.

After a few hours of trying to sleep he got up to make himself a hot drink, he felt unsettled, perhaps he was excited for the trip. It was about 2.30am in the morning and he heard a helicopter overhead. It was common practice for the police to fly over so he didn't think much of it.

Eventually he managed to get some sleep and when morning came, he got up, washed, dressed and after eating a bowl of cereal and filling up Thorntype's feeding dish he waited for Ian to arrive then within the hour they were heading south on the motorway.

Lon and Kiri had managed to get a flight to Heathrow then got their UK based pilot to transport them to Willow's Brook village in the company helicopter where the pilot landed on Kiri's newly built helipad.

Kiri thanked the pilot and asked him to be on standby before the pilot took off again then Kiri and Lon jumped in a jeep which Lon had rented earlier and drove to a nearby hotel. All Lon wanted to do was go to Andy's house but it would have to wait until later on today. 

After grabbing a few hours sleep they both got up, washed and dressed and called room service and after a full english breakfast with all the trimmings they set off back to the village. Kiri dropped Lon off at Andy's house and told him he would see him later at the site then drove to the site himself.

Lon walked up to Andy's front door and knocked but no one answered? He knocked again and waited, still nothing? An old lady walked by and spoke to Lon.

"morning dear, are you looking for Andrew?" she said.

"good morning, yes I am" Lon replied.

"I saw him getting in a car this morning with another boy, they had bags with them so I think they were going away?"

Lon's heart started pounding, no that can't be right? he thanked the lady and set off towards the site. His mind was all over the place, where has he gone, who is he with, why hasn't he been picking up my calls and answering my messages?

He should have just gone to Andy's earlier this morning, instead of going to the hotel. He should have come to the UK sooner instead of staying that extra two days with Tar.

When he reached the site he met up with Kiri who told him he had seen Kan and he was going to propose later that day. he had also telephoned Champ and asked him to come to the site at about lunchtime because he knew Kan would want his friend there.

He was planning to go to their bed and breakfast in a couple of hours and he was going to bring Kan to the site then. Meanwhile, Lon didn't know what the hell to do, he had planned to see Andy then bring him down to the site with him. 

He tried calling Andy but there was still no answer and when Kiri noticed that Lon was agitated he asked him what was wrong so Lon told him.

"give me a few minutes" he told him and after making a few phone call's and relaying Andy's telephone number to the person on the other end of the call, Kiri was able to get the number tracked and get an exact location, apparently Andy was travelling southbound at the moment.

Kiri went off to Kan's house and soon returned to the site with Kan and his parent's. After showing them around, Kiri bent down on one knee and proposed to Kan and of course he said yes. 

By now, Champ had arrived and both he and Lon were watching the proposal from a hidden vantage point. When Kan said yes, they revealed themselves, clapping and whistling. They were both genuinely happy for their best friends.

All going back to Kan's parent's house, Lon cracked a bottle of champagne and they all cheered the happy couple. 

Soon, Kiri got a phone call, it was an update on the tracking. The phone in question was last tracked in London. Lon asked Kan and Champ if they had any idea where Andy was but of course they didn't know then Kiri excused himself for a moment to make a call.

He called a contact in London and gave him all the details including the last location where the phone was traced, he also sent a picture of Andy that he had got from Lon.

"keep him under surveillance, I'm sending my man" Kiri said before hanging up.

Walking back into Kan's parents house he walked over to Lon.

"take the chopper, I've made all the arrangements, you will be in London in about an hour give or take, get in touch with this guy when you get there" he said handing Lon a number. 

"he has Andy under surveillance and he will let you know where he is, I've got my man Lon, now you go and get yours" Kiri said patting his best friend on the back.

Lon threw his arms around Kiri and hugged him,

"congratulations Kiri my friend and thank you for this, I'll keep you updated and I'll be back as soon as I can" and saying goodbye to everyone else he dashed off.

He ran back to the site and made his way to the helipad where the pilot was already waiting. Lon was so pissed at Andy right now, he wanted answers and one way or another he was going to get them.
