A three day seminar turned into two weeks. Two motherfúçking weeks.
What's worse is I haven't called him to see if he'd come around. He hasn't.
For a moment, I thought something had happened to him, then I saw him post a picture on instagram.
He can't take two seconds to call or text his girlfriend but he can show everyone what he's eating like anyone cares. Fùck him.
"You'll always love me, right Miguel?" I asked him and he barked a confirmation.
The one guy I can always count on, and my dad of course. Occasionally my brother, I know I can when it really matters.
I was busy sulking and watching Pan's Labyrinth with Miguel when my phone rung. I assumed it was Alec and I picked up blindly.
"Hello?" I answered, excited he had actually called.
"Valentina, how are you?" I heard Blake's voice instead.
I should've looked at who was calling first.
"What do you want?"
"I can't just call to talk?"
"No." I replied, ready to hang up.
"Why not? Will your boyfriend put you in a time out? No, he'd just take your phone and yell at you right? Must be such a turn on."
I rolled my eyes. I had no desire to do this with him right now.
"Bye Blake." I said and hung up.
Why are the men in my life so infuriating? More importantly, when did Blake think it was okay to call me?
I've made a lot of bad decisions in my life, but these days, I'm making a lot of really shítty choices and I'm paying for it.
Maybe this is sign that I need to grow up and start thinking how my mother, or any other responsible grown woman, would think. But like all the other revelations I have in life, I'll say I'll try to change but never do.
My cell rang again and I debated picking it up or not.
"Alec it's been two weeks! Why haven't you called--"
"Can you pick me up from JFK airport? My car got towed." He said nonchalantly, like nothing was wrong.
That made my blood boil. I've obviously been making myself too available to him if he thinks he can not talk to me for the longest and think everything is okay.
"Call a taxi." I snapped then hung up.
Times like these I needed Natasha to be here with me. She'd know what to do.
I decided to call my friend to hear her input in all this message but sadly, she didn't answer.
Alec began calling and texting me nonstop, I was too irritated to care though. My phone was switched to 'do not disturb' and I went about my business.

The banging on my door was unrelenting and it was hard to hear myself think.
It was Alec of course, which is why I didn't open the door.
"Valentina! Open the goddąmn door!" He shouted from the other side.
"Not with that tone of voice." I replied under my breath. He didn't need to know that I was home.
That is no way to talk to a lady.
Abruptly the banging ceased and Alec stopped shouting. I knew better than to think that he gave up, he was changing tactics; Alec probably went to get a spare key, and if that was the case, I needed to be gone, quick.
