"Val! I'm really glad you came, here come sit." Natasha greeted fakely.

"I'm still confused about why you even called me." I told her sitting down.

Natasha poured a glass of sweet tea for me from the pitcher that was already sitting on her coffee table. As I was raising it to my lips, I thought about the possibility that she poisoned it.

"Because I missed you. After we had our falling out and Cam dumped me, I realized what a mistake I made. I should've told him from the start. Kyle got bored and he left me."

Even though this terrible woman took my dog from me, couldn't help but feel the slightest pang of sympathy for her. At one point, she was one of my closest friends.

"I'm sorry about all that, I'll admit, it certainly wasn't my place to tell Cameron, but bîtch I know you stole my fûcking dog."

Her dour expression changed to something that looked close to annoyance or anger.

"How did you figure that out?" She asked me hoping off the couch.

"Don't worry about that, just return Miguel to me and I'll forget it ever happened."

I forget about it after I give her many choice words.

"I can't do that. I already sold him." She said to me.

When I heard those words, I blacked out, if it weren't for the incessant banging on her apartment door, I probably would have beat her close to death.

"Hey, what the hell are you doing?!" A woman I had never seen before screamed at me.

She probably heard the commotion from outside. I rose up off of Natasha's body, wishing her wailing cries would cease, and dusted my clothes off.

"Trust me she deserved it." I answered.

I left before they could call the police on me. When I calmed, I realized I should have asked her who she sold my precious pooch too so I could at least buy him back.

When Max called, I was stuck in a bad traffic jam and slowly losing my mind.

"Hey Val, when you're coming home swing by my place."

"Okay, but for what?" I asked him, I was still going to go regardless.

"I have something for you." He told me and hung up.

With something else to think of, the heavy feeling weighing down my chest, lifted some. I wonder what Max has for me, I hope it isn't Tristan.

I was kind of a bîtch to him the other day, and with just happened, I wasn't ready to be in another confrontational setting. He needed to realize that I couldn't think about where our relationship stood until I found Miguel.

While riding up the elevator to Max's penthouse, I tapped my foot impatiently eager for the surprise waiting for me. The door slid open and I briskly walked up to the door and knocked. Almost instantly, a familiar face came to the door.

"I thought you'd never show Val." He said letting me in, I didn't miss the goofy smile dancing on his face.

"Sorry, traffic was terrible. What have you got for me?"

"What happened to you face?" He asked me touching a scratch on my face, and ignoring my question.

"Natasha, I'll tell you all about it later. Just show me what I can here for."

"Ok Val, close your eyes. No peeking either!" He commanded, already walking to his balcony.

I complied, bubbling with excitement, I loved surprises, especially from Max. The last time he did something like this, he bought me the Chanel handbag I had been eyeing for so long on my birthday.
