"Hey, Frida? You here?".

"I'm in the office!" Frida yelled from down the hall.

Seconds later, Karen appeared at the door "Hey, pretty girl, how are you?" and she sat down on the armchair in front of the desk, smiling and placing her bag on the chair next to it.

Frida smiled at her, placing her cell phone on the desk. Karen had become, over the years, a real unofficial partner of her studio. They had met during the years of full activity in dance and had become good friends, basing their friendship on mutual esteem and sympathy. When Frida had officially retired from dancing, and Karen had also decided to quit, calling her there had been an almost natural choice.

"Fine, you?" Frida asked, going back to opening the various envelopes and letters that she had in front of her and that the postman had just delivered.

"Fine" Karen sighed "But I can't wait for the week to be over already" and she winked at her.

The two laughed and Karen grabbed some envelopes from the desk.

"Do you need a hand?".

Frida briefly looked at her "They're mostly invitations or advertisements, if you don't think they're interesting, discard them without problems".

Thus a couple of minutes passed, between them a silence punctuated only by the noise of torn paper and open sheets and of the small radio that Frida had turned on as a background and which was broadcasting old jazz pieces.

Beyond that almost idyllic atmosphere, Frida's cell phone had continued to vibrate incessantly, signaling the incoming of messages.

At Frida's umpteenth soft giggle, Karen looked up from the letter she was reading and looked at her, squinting her eyes "So... Who is sending you all these funny texts?".

Frida widened her eyes and looked at her almost shocked "Excuse me?".

Karen crossed her arms on her stomach and stared at her "I mean, I've been here for a couple of minutes and that cell phone seems to have a hot line. Any news you want to share, miss Frida?" and she juggled her eyebrows.

Frida snorted and sat straighter in her chair "Nothing to declare" she replied with a mischievous little smile.

"Ohhh, come on!" Karen dropped her selfless mask and rested her elbows on the desk.

Frida chuckled "I'm sorry, but there's nothing to say. And even if there is, it's my business. I'm going to change!" and she quickly got up and walked out of the office, laughing.

"I'll remember this, Frida!" Karen yelled after her.

Frida, still giggling, hurried over to the locker room for a quick shower after her morning gym session. She opened her bag and took out everything she needed and then checked her cell phone one last time, a slight smile on her lips:

Benny: <That's so so true, miss ;D Anyway, I need to go now. Work calls! * Damn it *... Can't wait to see you, pretty lady ;)>

Frida bit her lower lip and replied:

Frida: <Me too handsome :)>

And then she shook her head at her foolishness, but not regretting it in the slightest, feeling... Yes, feeling quite happy after a long time.

"So, I'll find you on Thursday?".

"Yes! I'll be here for sure".

"Perfect, Frida. You're too good!".
