03; an encounter

They had finally arrived at the military base, they got out of the car and took their belongings with them. It was extremely crowded, making it almost impossible to walk anywhere.

It took some time for them to finally make it to the main gate, but just before they could enter, they were stopped by the soldiers.

The girls were told to go to the other military camp, as the one they were at was fully occupied, and there wasn't enough space for everyone.

Ari's jaw dropped, she was mad. Her face was getting red and her brows were furrowed, it was obvious that she was about to punch that guy out of frustration.

" What the h--" just before Ari could say anything, Eunji held her hand, stopping her from going too far. Ari was a second away from punching the shit out of them, but she calmed down. She knew she would never live to see the next day if she did that. Eunji sighed and patted Ari's back gently.

"Great, just out luck" Ari muttered to herself.

They quietly made their way back to the car, exhaustion could be seen from their faces. Their next destination is a one-hour drive from their current place, so Eunji suggested them to stop at a grocery market. She was afraid that the same thing would happen again, and they couldn't rely on the soldiers every time.

Once they spotted the grocery store, Ari immediately parked the car infront of the building. They hopped off the car and took a few small weapons with them, just in case they encountered the walkers.

Eunji went to the canned food section and took some with her. Canned food can last for a quite long time, and it was the best option. Dani snatched a few bottles of mineral water while Ari went to the hard tools section and took an axe with her.

They were about to walk out of the building when a weird growling could be heard.

"Guys we need to get out of here, now..!" Eunji whisper screamed at them, signaling that the place was no longer safe. Eunji held her brother's hand and silently ran their way out, along with Ari behind them. They put all of the stuff they just took in the trunk and made their way to the next destination.

They couldn't get much supplies since they didn't want to risk their lives, but there was still enough food for them to survive for a few days.

30 minutes has passed. The highway they took was a mess, but it was suspiciously quiet. Broken cars could be seen on the side of the road, with shatters of glass surrounding them. They could see dead bodies everywhere, from inside the car to the middle of the road. Dani almost threw up at the sight of a corpse which only had its head remaining.

Ari decided to drive slowly since the road was cramped. Getting the car damaged was the last thing she wanted, since that was the only way for them to get to their destination

A knock could be heard from the passenger seat's window, making Eunji jump a bit at the sudden noise. They turned their head in that direction and saw a few adults, both men and women.

One of them had a lot of tattoos on his right arm, it seemed like he was the leader of the gang. Ari was about to slide the window down when Eunji stopped her.

She knew something was wrong with them.

The tattoo guy knocked on their window again, making them freeze up. Eunji felt uneasy about it, so she told Ari to ignore them.

The adults were pissed off at them and started kicking the car's doors and screamed at them, saying that they should open the door before they do anything violent to the teenagers.

They were scared and closed their eyes, they couldn't do anything in that moment. A part of Ari wanted to drive away from them, but at the same time she didn't want to hurt anyone even if it was obvious they were bad people.

Suddenly a loud honk could be heard. They couldn't see anything but one thing they were sure of was, there were other people with them.

On the other side..

The nameless people pointed their gun at the wicked adults, they were frightened and drove away.

"Hyung you scared me, i really thought you were gonna shoot them" he gasped dramatically.

"Nah, i just wanted to scare them. Many people are going insane since the apocalypse started, they will do anything for their own gain. You can never trust anyone anymore, especially adults" a sigh escaped his mouth

"I mean, technically we're adults too-- "

"Junhyeon, not the time" Jongwoo frowned at the younger guy

"I think we should check the person inside the car right now" Jongwoo spoke again and they all agreed

It was silent, they couldn't hear any banging or screaming anymore. Eunji opened her eyes and checked her surroundings, thankfully the adults had driven away from there.

Suddenly a knock could be heard on the car's window, again

" Hey, are you guys okay? "
