04; a proposal

"my eyes kept searching for you "

"Hey, are you guys okay?" an unfamiliar guy asked.

The sudden voice immediately alerted them, making the girls turn their heads towards each other. They were approached again by strangers, but it felt different this time as the guy didn't give off any bad energy, well at least that's what Eunji thought.

Eunji slowly turned her head towards the window opened the windscreen. Her face scrunched up a bit as she observed the guy.

"Who are you?"

"I'm Hanbin. Sung Hanbin" The guy said while smiling.

"Me and my friends saw what happened earlier, and we were worried about you guys. Are you guys okay now? Did they do anything else to you?" he continued as he wore a worried expression.

The girls were shocked. Honestly, they didn't think they would meet someone as nice as him, especially not in the situation they're in now.

"We're fine. I assume you guys are the ones who helped us earlier? Thank you for that" Eunji spoke and gave him a quick smile in return.

"No problem! Personally if we were in the same situation, we would've been terrified too" he laughed a little.

"Anyway, I think we should give you guys a proper introduction. The guy beside me is Kum Junhyeon "

Junhyeon waved at the girls and gave them a friendly smile. Ari noticed that and smiled back at him.

" That guy who has a scowl on his face over there is Yoon Jongwoo" Jongwoo heard that and glared at him.

" Don't mind him, he doesn't bite. He may look grumpy all the time but he's actually really nice, well at least with us." Hanbin scratched the back of his head before sending them an awkward smile.

"And I'm Taerae! Nice to meet you guys--"

"Wait, Eunji? Is that really you?"

His face lit up in recognition, smiling ear to ear as he was happy to see her again.

"Taerae? I didn't know I'd find you here" she squinted her eyes as she observed the guy.

Eunji was amazed. They barely even talked to each other at school, and meeting him here, in this place, was really unexpected. It seemed as fate brought them together.

"This is a cute reunion and all, but we really need to get going now or else Hui will be worried. After all, this place isn't safe" Jongwoo spoke, he didn't mean to be rude or anything.

"Oh yeah, it was nice meeting you guys too"

"Again, thank you for saving us earlier. If you guys weren't there, i don't know what could've happened" Ari thanked them, which hanbin replied with a cheerful smile.

" Where are you guys heading to anyway? " Hanbin asked curiously.

"The military base in Daejeon" Hyeri replied.

"The military base over there? I thought that place isn't safe anymore?" he frowned, tilting his head in confusion.

"Wait, what do you mean?"

"This is just a rumour, but a friend of mine told me that a walker got into the camp, don't know how, and it bit someone else and now the place is full of those man-eating creature"

"I'm sure some of them made it out.. but we can't be sure they aren't infected too" Hanbin added.

Hearing this, both of the girls sighed at the same time. They felt defeated, all of their hard work was for nothing.

"Hey, why don't you guys follow us back to our camp? We can't assure your safety all the time, but we've got supplies there. Plus, there are also a few females at the base, so you guys don't have to be scared or anything" Junhyeon suggested, all of the boys agreed with him.

"I mean, it's technically the end of the world now, and the human population is decreasing every day. I don't want the same thing happening to you guys" Junhyeon continued.

The girls looked at each other before nodding, giving the guys a nod of approval.

"Sure, we're in. But if we see anything suspicious, we're leaving" Ari bluntly told them with a monotonous tone, it was important for their safety.

"Understandable. Anyway, we should go now, follow us!" Taerae said and gestured his hands at their car.

It was an old black jeep, but it looked big enough for them to fit in there. Half of the car's window and front part were covered with metal parts, which was obviously for extra safety.

They quickly took their supplies and followed the guys to their car and hopped in.

Everyone was quiet and fixed their eyes on the surroundings. It was understandable since they had just met each other, except for Taerae and Eunji.

Eunji was lowkey enjoying the silent drive. Sure it was an awkward silence, but nonetheless she still enjoyed it. She thought that having people around her felt safe enough.

Eunji rolled down the window screen half-way and closed her eyes as she breathed in the cold fresh air, making her bangs dance softly from the strong wind. Her soft pale skin glows brightly from the evening sun rays that, one would simply stare at her to appreciate her beauty.

The sneaky guy, Taerae stole a quick glance at the girl and grinned quietly.

"Idiot, you never changed"

He mumbled to himself and kept his eyes at her figure.
