King Liam's pov
As I held my newborn daughter in my arms, I couldn't help but feel a sense of overwhelming emotion. Tears streamed down my face as I looked down at her tiny, delicate features.
It was bittersweet to hold her for the first time because I couldn't help but think of my daughter Layla I had yet to find. The guilt of my failure as a father weighed heavily on me.
Violet, my partner, lay in her hospital bed with a loving smile, watching us both. "What shall we name her, Liam?" she asked softly, sensing the weight of my emotions.
In the midst of searching for Layla, I hadn't given much thought to a name for our newborn.
Violet thought for a moment before suggesting, "Let's name her Rose."
The name caught me off guard, but it immediately struck a chord within me. "Rose," I repeated, looking down at my daughter's rosy cheeks. "That's perfect."
Violet smiled at me, a look of contentment spreading across her face. "Rose Eleonora Bamford," she said.
As I looked down at my newborn daughter, I knew the name she had chosen was perfect. It embodied the beauty and strength I saw in her already, and I couldn't help but smile as I agreed with my partner, "Yes, I think it's a wonderful name for her."
Handing the bundle of joy back to Violet, I felt a renewed sense of purpose. I was struggling, especially since my daughter, Layla, had run away from home again. Despite my efforts to find her, she remained missing, and the pain of her absence was a constant weight on my heart.
Now, with a new daughter to raise, I was determined to give both my children the love and support they deserved.
As I watched Violet cradle our newborn daughter with such tenderness and care, I couldn't help but hope that Layla was safe and well. I vowed to never stop searching for her and to do everything in my power to bring her back home.
I know deep down that Layla was not a bad person. She was simply craving my love and attention, which I failed to provide. As a father, I was supposed to be there for her and make her feel valued and appreciated, but I fell short.
Suddenly, my wife Violet's voice pierces through my thoughts, "Are you still thinking about that whore of a daughter that wants nothing to do with you and has run away twice? While you have a beautiful daughter here that you aren't even thinking about!" Her words sting, and I can see the frustration etched on her face as she cradles our newborn daughter in her arms.
"I just went through five hours of labor and brought in a beautiful girl into this world, and here you are thinking about Layla!" Violet continues, her voice rising. "You have a chance to be a better father to this little one, to give her the love and attention that she deserves. Don't make the same mistakes you made with Layla."
As Violet tries to rock the baby back to sleep, I can't help but feel conflicted about her words. "Don't call her a whore Violet!" I retort, feeling defensive. "She's still my daughter at the end of the day regardless. What's so wrong in wanting my entire family together here?"
I pause, taking a deep breath before continuing, "I know we just had a baby and I'm elated and ecstatic, but at the same time, you can't expect me to just forget about my daughter now that you've given birth. And I'll warn you for the very last time about calling her names."
Violet looks at me, frustration etched on her face. "I don't see what's so hard to forget about her," she says, continuing to rock the baby. "Clearly, she wanted to be with that thug she confessed to loving and not her family."
