(Y'all did understand what I was hinting at in the last chapter. Also I will keep mentioning my oneshot book that you can go and make requests on but anyway BACK TO THE CHAPTERRRR)
No one's POV: Howdy was extremely nervous. Not because of work or something bad but because today was the day that he was going to propose to Wally. Julie, Barnaby, Eddie and Poppy all helped Howdy set up for the special event. It was going to be a dinner date but they would have dinner in the little forest that they liked to visit from time to time. Howdy and Barnaby were adding some final touches to the spot they'd picked out.
"I can't believe my little buddy is going to get proposed to! It feels like just yesterday when we were kids making macaroni art." Barnaby commented. Howdy smiled while fidgeting with his hands. "You nervous?" Barnaby asked with a smile. "Extremely." Howdy said awkwardly smiling back at him. Barnaby patted him on the back. "Don't worry dude! Me and the others will be right here for moral support. Plus Wally always talks about how much he loves you so I'm confident that he's gonna say yes." Barnaby said trying to calm Howdy. "Let's hope for the best." Howdy said before going back to his house.(shop? Thing??)
Howdy's POV: The last thing to do was call Wally. OhmygodOhmygodOhmygod. I thought to myself as the phone rang. I tried to stop myself from shaking but it didn't work. "Hello! Who is this?" Wally asked. Okay..okay I can do this! "H-Hey darling! I-I um uh..I was wondering if maybe you'd like to go on another date?" I asked. "Of course! Where to?" He asked. "It's a surprise!" I said happily. He giggled before answering "Alright. I'll be ready in about fifteen minutes." He said. "Okay! I'll wait for you outside of yours. Bye!" I said before hanging up. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! I CANT BELIEVE IM DOING THIS IM SO SCARED I HOPE HE SAYS YES BUT WHAT IF HE DOESNT WHAT IF- no! I can't think like that right now..I'll just quickly fix myself up and I'll head over to his place.
I waited outside the door as a pit formed in my stomach. Suddenly the door opened. There he was. Gosh he looked so handsome. He always looks handsome. "So where is this mystery place you're taking me?" He asked. "It wouldn't be a mystery if I told you!" I said. He giggled and held my hand as we made our way to the spot. We finally got to the place

Wally gasped once he saw it. "Gosh this place looks nice!" He said. I smiled, thank god he likes it. Once we sat down, Julie came over to us. She was wearing a suit and a fake moustache and spoke in a Italian accent. "Bonjour sirs, I'm uh..Pete! And I'm your French- uh I mean Italian waiter! What can I get you two?" She asked. Wally tried to hold in laughter and I couldn't stop myself from smiling. "We-We'll have the specials." I said smiling at her. "Yes yes the spaghetti and meatballs perfect for couples! We'll get right on that sirs!" She said before turning around and yelling "EDDIE! SPAGHETTI AND MEATBALLS ASAP!" And she hurried back out of sight.
Once she left Wally burst out laughing. I'm glad he was finding this funny because I was to. We talked about music since music is actually what we bonded over the first time we met. He liked singers like Lana del Rey and MARINA and I like bands like lovejoy and The cure but we both had artists we both liked liked artic monkeys and lemon demon and also Melanie Martinez though he definitely listens to her songs more then I do. He was showing me her new album when 'Pete' suddenly appeared again. "Here you two love birds are! The special spaghetti and meatballs." She said while putting the plates on the table and running away again.
We finished eating the spaghetti and this was finally my time to ask him. I signalled poppy to play 'I wanna be yours' by artic monkeys. "Oh I like this song!" He said enjoying the tune. I stood up and stood beside him. He stood up as well. "Howdy? What are you doing?" He asked. "Wally my love..you make my life better just by existing and I can't even think about what life would be like if you weren't here. I am so glad that I met you and that I got to spend so much time with you..and I've been thinking about all our happy, sad and peaceful times together and I've realised that I want that all the time. So Wally Darling, will you make me the happiest caterpillar on earth and marry me?" I said as I got down on two knees and opened the ring box.
The ring was silver with a sapphire in the middle. He gasped and I could see tears swell in his eyes. "Oh howdy of course I will!" He said before hugging me tight. I picked him and and spun him around while the others came out of wherever they were hiding and started clapping. "Champagne anyone?" Barnaby said while holding two bottles of champagne in the air. We all sat around the table and drank champagne while talking about random things. My life was now perfect.
