Cassiopeia Hart was sixteen-years-old, with two siblings, who always ignored her, and hardly spoke to her — she had no friends, being dropped out of school since a pandemic started in 2020, and she stayed out of school all the way until 2023. She didn't know if she was upset about it or happy. Cass wasn't exactly a people person, even if she was, all she got was bullied.Cassi wasn't exactly pretty to most people, either. Her hair was a dyed black, with the roots going back to its normal brown. She wore glasses, which showed her green eyes perfectly, but no one liked her freckles. 'Freckle face' she was called on many occasions in the fifth grade, or, her most favorite, 'four eyes'— Cassi never looked at herself as a skinny person. She wasn't as skinny as her brother and sister, but she wasn't big either. She had a pooch, but she didn't like it, she wanted to be as skinny as the others, leaving her to workout any time she could, or starve herself for two days at a time.
If she could, she'd take Tiktoks advice and leave this place, shifting to another reality. But, she didn't. Instead, she read Wattpad, read books, or worked out for a new body, with an app she also got from TikTok, called JustFit.
It was March third, 2023, when she had just finished her forty-minute workout. She leaned up, opening her eyes, clearing her apps and taking off her headphones, when she saw out of the corner of her eyes, a figure sitting on her bed.
Cassi looked over quickly. There were two. Both incredibly attractive with their perfect faces, black hair and... red eyes? Cassi asked the only question that came to mind, "Who are you— No, wait. How did you get into my room?"
"I'm Kas, or Kasdeya." The girl said. "This is my brother, Zagon, or Zag. Whatever works, Cassiopeia."
"We just appeared." Said the boy. "Think of it like... magic, without holding a stick." He looked up at the Harry Potter poster.
Cassi slowly went to her feet, still staring at the siblings. She was confused, which anyone would be, seeing two people lay on their bed, in comfortable positions, just staring at them. Cassi looked at her door, assuming it was some prank her siblings pulled, but her door was still closed and locked.
"How long have you been here?" Cassi turned back to the boy and girl on her bed.
"Fifteen minutes." The boy called Zagon said.
Cassi's face flushed with red against her pale skin. She was embarrassed that they saw her exercising. And seeing them clearly, she was more embarrassed having two gorgeous and fit people in her room, as she was wearing black leggings and a blue shirt, with fluffy socks showing Hogwarts —from her favorite movies—and her frizzy hair.
"Why are you here?" Cassi swallowed, moving slowly to her desk at the corner of her room.
"For you." Said Zagon. "Our father wants you."
"Yeah, well, I'm afraid of old people." Said Cassi, slowly opening the drawer to her desk, grabbing her pocket knife that she kept near. She hid it behind her wrist as she turned her hand.
"He definitely is old." Kasdeya smiled. "Over 13.7 billion years old."
Cassi chuckled nervously. "Is this some joke to you?"
"Oh, no, Cassiopeia Hart." Said Zagon, leaning up. "He is— But isn't your God older?"
"God is good." Cassi defended. "He helped—"
"He kills people." Zagon said firmly. "He lets people get hurt. Murdered, raped, kidnapped. He isn't good."
The word rape always triggered a nerve in Cassi's mind, making her inside crunch, but she wasn't about to show that to these people. No, she stood her ground.
