Zagon had only just lifted his cup of sweet tea to his mouth when he heard the word 'dates'. Unlike the other three, he didn't go red, he didn't even fill embarrassed, all he done was grin at the embarrassment that filled Beckett's soft face.

"Nervous?" Zag said, looking at Beck. He took a sip of his tea in a satisfying manner as Beck's face became almost too pink for his normal color. Even through sunglasses, Zagon could see it.

"No." Beck said, his Adam apple bobbed from him swallowing hard on his lie.

Zagon always loved his games. He loved making people nervous. He loved it more to see them try to lie their way out of it, making every effort to try to keep them holding it together.

"So," Zag said, shifting himself into a comfortable position, staring at Beck, "you're the gay friend?"

Beck let out a nervous chuckle before clearing his throat, "Well, I am gay, but Cassi is bisexual, so I'm not the only gay one."

"You like women?" Zag turned his head to Cassi, who looked as if she wanted to leave the conversation, but she still nodded. "Parents not allow it, I suspect?"

Cassi shook her head. "It's against my religion." She said.

Kasdeya hummed.

"Which one of you is the gay sibling?" Beck asked. "There's always one— yet, neither of you look it." His eyes flickered between Kas and Zag, who both laughed.

"You have to look a certain way to like someone?" Kas said. "Speak for yourself. It was more of a shock to hear you like dick."

"Your generation would, I've heard, call us pansexual." Zag said, leaning back into the booth.

"Us?" Beck repeated. "Both of you? I'm not exactly surprised. Living three-hundred years, I'm sure the only fun thing for you is fucking someone. Have to experiment sometime."

Zag scoffed, but he wasn't offended. It was a scoff at the fact he assumed that they had sex for fun.

"You don't agree?" Beck said.

"I don't. No." Zag said. "We've had sex, sure. But just like humans, it's not good unless you want the person."

"So you're saying, in three hundred years, you've never once fell in love?" Beck said.

"We have." Kas said. "Death came for them, like it does everyone."

"They were mortal?" Cassi asked, swallowing her food.

"No." Said Zag. "No mortals. Vampire and," he pointed at his sister, "Demon."

They didn't realize ten minutes had passed in their conversation, when the same waiter from before walked over, just looking slightly afraid.

"Enjoying? Do you need anything?"

"Could I have a refill?" Cassi asked.

"Of course." The waiter swallowed hard.

Zag watched the scared waiter, as he grabbed the cup full of ice from Cassi's fingers, only barley touching, when the glass dropped, and he grabbed his hand panting hard, his face in pain as he swore.

They all saw it this time, it was hard not to when the cup clanged to the ground, echoing through the room, making people stare in silence.

"Sorry." The waiter said, looking around the room. "It was really cold." He laughed. "Please, enjoy your meals."

The chattering started up again, but not at Zag's table. No, they stared at the waiter, who turned back to them. His eyes lingered for a moment, as he apologized, but he suddenly stopped.
