Calen huffs when she tosses and turns in the be. She knows sleep isn't going to overcome her. Well, who would be able to sleep after kissing your best friend's dad, not once, but twice?Noticing the sun rising through her window, Calen throws on a hoodie and sneaks out of her room. Walking downstairs and opening the porch door as silently as possible. She tiptoes until she reaches the sand and strolls down the beach, stopping before the waves reach her feet. She sits down and pulls her knees to her chest for warmth as she watches the sunrise.
When the sun is halfway above the horizon, a body sits next to her and in the corner of her eye, she notices it's Jensen dressed in shorts and his own jacket to keep him warm. Neither speaks as they adore the sight in front of them.
"How did you sleep?" Jensen interrupts their silence as he faces her.
"I didn't." Calen answers and watches his tired expression fall into a frown and knitted eyebrows in the corner of her eye. She hopes he'll leave it at that, but of course, he doesn't.
"Why?" He wants to figure out why she didn't sleep. Instead of answering, Calen shrugs her shoulders but Jensen knows she's holding something back.
The two let silence roll over them as they observe the sun continue to rise. The tiny waves reaching the shore are the only sound heard.
"Why're you up before seven?" Calen realizes Jensen's up early for someone who's on vacation.
"Didn't sleep." He admits and she asks why. When he doesn't answer she believes he was awake for the same reason as her.
No. Calen thinks to herself. He wouldn't have lost sleep over that.
A shiver runs down Calen's spine when a strong breeze hits her. Jensen moves closer as he shrugs off his jacket. "No," Jensen says when he notices Calen open her mouth when he places his jacket on her shoulders.
Calen mumbles something that's incoherent to Jensen but he knows it's not family friendly.
Still mumbling, Calen pulls Jensen's jacket closer to her when the next wind is harsher.
Turning to her right to face Jensen, Calen's met with his lips on hers. And just like the first and last night, she doesn't break away. Instead, she slowly moves to straddle his lap. Jensen pulls her closer when Calen's fingers run through his hair.
One of Calen's hands is holding Jensen's jaw, making sure there's no space. Her other at the nape of his neck, pulling at the short strands of his hair. The moans erupting from Jensen make Calen smirk into the kiss.
The two break apart for air, but Calen's pulling Jensen back in after a few seconds. Jensen's hands find placement on Calen's back and in her hair.
The pair continue making out until a seagull lands a yard away from them, making a loud sound. Calen pulls away and laughs when her eyes land on the bird while Jensen's eyes stay fixated on her.
Jensen's hand which was once in Calen's hair, joins his other hand at Calen's back. The simple movement makes her snap back into reality.
No. Calen repeats the one word in her head as she moves off of Jensen. "No." She finally says it aloud when she points at Jensen who's slowly standing up.
"What?" Jensen's genuinely lost on why Calen's acting the way she is. "'No' what?" He's now second-guessing if he did anything wrong to harm Calen in any way, causing him to silently panic as that's the last thing he would want to do.
"You are my best friend's dad." She explains her reaction to what they just did. "I don't screw my friends' parents. Especially, when said friend has hopes their parents will get back together." The last sentence makes Jensen's eyebrows scrunch. "Yeah, Ash believes that. So, this," she motions between them, "never ever happened. End of conversation."
