"Shut up!" Astrid whisper yells. "Can I hit him?" Calen just told her about Hardin... not including Jensen's part in the story of course. "If you say no then can my dad hit him? He and Mom once told me that he broke a guy's nose for flirting with her." She stays quiet as they sit in a quiet restaurant."No violence." Calen shakes her head. "If there were to be violence then he'd be ten feet underground." Her statement makes Astrid giggle. "Speaking of your dad and stories, I may just have to hang out with him to get some very humorous stories about baby you." She's been trying to find an excuse to hang with Jensen in public and Astrid not question why and now this seems like a perfect opportunity.
"Hang out with my dad all you want, but he knows what stories to not blab about." Astrid sips on her Shirley Temple. "He knows I dictate whether he goes into a nursing home or not."
"Wow." Calen laughs at her comment.
"Going to put him and mom in the same nursing home if they're not back together by then." Astrid states and Calen's smile almost drops but she catches it in time.
"I was all for you trying to set your parents back up, but, uh, Jensen's reaction the other day kind of makes me think differently." Calen avoids eye contact as she swirls her straw in her smoothie.
"He's just in denial." Astrid brushes off Calen's doubt. "He's upset mom has a boyfriend that she doesn't know she's using to try to get over dad." She shrugs before picking a fry from her plate.
"Change of topic." Calen can't handle the topic of Jensen getting back together with Kat. "Jack's throwing a party that he's disguising as a graduation party for everyone from school that graduated college this year."
"Of course he is." Astrid shakes her head with a short chuckle. "Do you want to go?" She asks and Calen nods. "Well, then I guess we're going to this graduation party. You're coming over to mine to get ready." She points at her.
"Ma'am, yes, ma'am." Calen salutes. "But I'm getting back to Cal's before it gets late because I did move in with him because I missed his dumb ass." She grins at the thought of spending time with her brother.
"I wish I had a sibling growing up." Astrid purses her lips. "I think you and Caleb made everyone upset with how close you two are because no one's seen siblings get along this well."
"Little do they know I gave Cal a concussion when we were five and he yanked my hair in return," Calen states and Astrid's jaw drops. "Did I never tell you that story?" She tilts her head and her best friend shakes her head. "Well, now you do."
"How much did you two fight?" Astrid's curious about the twins' relationship.
Calen did ask for a topic change. "We fought a lot when we were little and if we did fight when we were older it would've been at home and in private." She explains to her. "Parents taught us that we can have issues with each other but the world doesn't need to know."
"Speaking of your parents," Astrid says with a mischievous smirk. "Your mom's hot. If she ever wants a divorce, I'm here for her."
"Do that and I might go comfort your dad." Calen quirks an eyebrow with the same smirk. "You know I will."
"My dad would never." Astrid giggles.
"Wanna bet?" Calen doesn't mean the words. She'd never bet on her's and Jensen's relationship, but it's instinct when it comes to these situations to say that.
"Fifty bucks," Astrid replies and Calen's jaw drops. "I'm kidding. You're amazing and my dad may pull a mom and I don't need that."
"I'm hearing there's a chance." Calen wiggles her eyebrows and Astrid sends her an unamused look. "Now that I'm thinking about it," she places her head in her hand. "Your dad is drop-dead handsome and like you said, I'm amazing, so..."
