"Mija, get up and get dressed." Ashley, Melanii's mother, lightly shook her on the shoulder barely waking up her daughter. With her eyes still closed due to the bright light that was beaming through her closed curtains, all she could do was mumble out of tiredness not wanting to get up.

She wanted to curse under her breath just for being woken up. However, she couldn't since she knew her mother was still standing over her. "Hm, where are we going?" The young girl didn't recall her mother saying anything the day before about them going anywhere.

She slowly turned her body the other way making her back face the elder woman, pulling the covers over her head to block the coolness that brought goosebumps to her exposed skin at the change of temperature. The fact that it was cold outside and in her room made her even more irritated than she already was.

   "We're going to go meet your cousins soon, so get up and get dressed. Be ready by 12." Ashley walked over to the window in the room, opening the blinds before she walked out ending the conversation. Melanii finally cursed under her breath, upset that she had to get up out of her comfortable, warm silky sheets.

She groaned and stretched afterward pondering on if she wanted to lay down for a few minutes and have her mother walk back in the room yelling at her or get up and get dressed without her mother yelling at her.

She decided to just get up not wanting to hear her mouth which of course was gonna make her even more irritated. She turned back around facing the way she was before her mother interrupted the rest she was getting.

Her fingertips rapidly graced around the silky bed sheets searching for her cellar device. Since she couldn't feel it, she chose to open her now heavily low eyes to search for the device, she lifted the comforter to see it next to her but a little lower from where she left it on the charger.

She reached grabbing the phone, rubbing the tiredness out of her eyes to see the screen. Her eyes adjusted to the screen more seeing that she had multiple calls from Ethan along with Triniti who called ten minutes before she was woken up. She released a heavy breath got out of bed, and went into her bathroom.

She had completed her night routine after the shower she had taken hours before. Looking into the mirror seeing that her hair was in a messy bun with a few curls hanging around.

To fix that she took her hair out of the bun, parting her hair into two little pieces to hang in the front, grabbed her eco gel from the bottom cabinet, and got a little bit on the tips of her fingers putting it around the edges of her head— grabbing the brush, brushing her hair back up putting it back in a more neat bun, then curling the two pieces in the front with her pointer fingers, after she did her edges. Once she was done she brushed her teeth and left.

She walked into her room, back to her phone, and decided to call Triniti first. She made a note in her head to call Ethan back when she could. Trin answered after 4 rings, sitting in her car with three Starbucks cups in a cup holder on her lap. "About time you ass woke up, good morning!" Trin's face held a huge smile, while Melanii just looked at the screen with a blank face.

"Damn well, I see you woke up on the wrong side of the bed. What's wrong with you?" Her face turned into a confused stank look, knowing that was her best friend's daily morning face. Although most days she woke up like that, other days were different— Like when she wakes up by herself she isn't as irritated.. more neutral.

  "Trin who's drinks are those?" Melanii spoke ignoring the statement and question. She didn't care about anything else but the drinks she could see in the camera hoping one of them were hers. "Oh there for me, you and Mama. I'm finna come in." She said it ever so casually like she hadn't been sitting outside the whole time, without letting her know.
