I sat at my desk watching as my father who was sent to copper-9 as part of a cleaning crew made his way to a bunker they couldn't get into for the longest time, I watched on as he came across a friendlier drone named N who had a worker drone pinned to the wall, "Dad pick it up and fire! Trust me!" The worker pleaded. I watched as her "Dad" took a few steps back closing a door sealing her fate. "Ouch left to die by your own father, Ahh well I'll make it quick dear" my dad says. I hit a button on my computer "Send her to me, I'm feeling pity for her" I say as he walked up to her "Alright N you get the doors open for me, seems this one gets a second chance at life" he says before putting a collar on the girl which knocks her offline. He picked her up as J and V arrive to assist in the colony's destruction "Hey F/N what's with the drone?" J asked "Payment, part of the deal was I could bring back any workers I wanted, I want this one" he says "Ugh, Let's go kill the rest before he takes anymore!" V says launching herself up into the vents "Don't keep us waiting human!" J says giving a small salute. N walked over to him "Make sure she gets there safe, even I feel bad for her" he says before following his squad mates. My dad got her to a return pod and set her inside, it locked her in its seat and blasted off.

It had been a month since my dad sent the drone to earth and I was patiently waiting on my porch for her arrival as today was the day, I was sitting there with my dog Bear, I had a cold drink in my hand enjoying the sun while Bear was sitting next to me eating his treat. I watched as a JCJ van pulled up my driveway and parked, outstepped a woman who pulled the drone out my dad had sent "As requested no personality changes, no memory wipes, and reworked insides to consume human foods and drinks, I just need you to sign here" she says handing me a clipboard, I take it and began signing the paper work "I must say its awfully brave of you to take a worker from copper-9 without at least checking there code for any malice" she says "I have a feeling, being treated right will do the trick" I say handing her the clip board back. "Either way, the JCJ thank you for choosing us for all your drone needs! We hope to hear from you again soon" she says taking the collar off the worker. I walked over picking the workers body up as her systems began to reboot. I set her down in the chair next to mine and plopped down in mine, once she came too she looked around before locking her eyes on me "Hello dear, welcome to your new home, I'm Y/n" I say as she sat there with a blank stare, "I get it, your afraid of what's going to happen, don't be. I had you brought here so you could get a second chance at life." I say as she looked down at her own hands. I got up and picked her up which seemed to surprise her "Don't you worry about a single thing, your not here as a servant or a slave. Your here for a better life then the one you had" I say taking us inside Bear following us. I got her over to the couch setting her down there "You relax a little dear, do you want something to drink?" I asked. She nodded "Well what would you like? I have a number of different things" I asked "D d do you have pop?" She asked "Sure! Got loads of it" I say opening the fridge pulling out two cans. I walked back over handing it to her, I opened mine as she opened hers. She took a drink shaking a little, I noticed her shakiness setting mine down "Relax your safe here, I'm not going to do anything" I say as she set her can down "So what's your name?" I asked "Uzi...." She says nervously "Uzi? Huh pretty badass name. Being named after a gun" I say, she smiled a little at the compliment "So Y/n, why exactly did you choose me?" She asked "I felt bad, your own father left you to die. With how young you are I wanted to give you another chance at life" I say "Oh.... It's nothing new he's never cared about me" she says upset, I put my arm around her pulling her into a hug "Well now your with someone who does care" I say as she looked up at me smiling. I whistled and Bear came trotting over to us he seemed to spook Uzi "What is that?" She asked "That's Bear! He's my friend and yours!" I say "He's my friend? Can he talk?" She asked "Bear speak!" I say as bear barked making Uzi jump "Relax Uzi he's friendly as could be, here let me show you" I say as I sat down on the floor clapping my hands making Bear walk over laying down on my lap, I rubbed his belly as his tail wagged "See? He won't hurt you" I say patting the floor next to me, Uzi slowly climbed down next to me and slowly rubbed Bears head, he got a little excited at a new person to play with and got up from my lap licking Uzis face and curling up to her, "Ugh gross!" She says unable to get away from the big dog I laughed watching her try to push Bear away but he was bigger then she was and easily kept close to her, eventually I called him off of her as he sat down next to me again "Ugh, now I'm all slimy!" She groaned "Come on I'll show you the shower so you can get clean" I say getting up, I showed Uzi around the entire house which wasn't much as I lived in a rather small house. "So Y/n.... Where's my bed?" She asked "Ahhh we'll be sharing one?" I say a little awkwardly, her face lit up with what I assumed was a blush judging by her bodily reaction. "I know its weird but I don't have another bedroom. I never really planned on getting a drone until my dad told me I would be getting one" I say as she shifted around a little uncomfortable. "Here's the washroom, do you need me to show you how the shower works or do you think you can figure it out?" I asked "I can figure it out...." She says I nod leaving her to get cleaned up.

I went back to the couch turning on the TV and switching to a random channel drinking my pop, I watched the random show while I waited for Uzi to finish cleaning up in the shower. I didn't have to wait long as I heard the water shut off and before long she came back out brushing her hair, I looked at her and smiled at how small she really was, I walked over and picked her up in a hug which surprised her as she was blushing again "I'm sorry Uzi but your just to dam cute!" I say making her blush harder. I set her back down and walk back I've to the couch as she sat down next to me "you hungry?" I asked "Yes I haven't eaten in day or two" she says "Geez speak up sooner dear, I'd have ordered some food already" I say getting up "Ordered food?" She asked confused. I grabbed my phone and ordered us some pizza and wings, once I got it placed I set my phone down "half and hour till it gets here" I say sitting back down "You just ordered food?" She asked confused "Yep I called a pizza place placed an order for delivery, they make the food and deliver it here. I pay them some money and we get food to eat" I explain "Huh.... We never had that" she says, "So what did you do for fun on Copper-9?" I asked she pondered for a moment "I watched pirated anime..." she says a little embarrassed "Ha! Even on another planet and we still won't pay!" I say which made her giggle "So you watch anime too then?" She asked "Oh yeah, here since it's something that'll make you feel at home you pick" I say swapping the TV over so she could pick a show she wanted to watch, as she browsed the shows her face lit up with joy "There's so many shows I haven't seen!" She says excited "Well we have all the time in the world Uzi so pick one and let's get started" I say, it took way longer then expected for her to pick a show but eventually she did, just as it got started the food arrived so I got up and payed for it. I brought the boxes over so we could just eat from them. I set them down and opened them, Uzi looked at it before grabbing a slice and taking a bite "It's as good as I imagined!!" She says happy as could be, I smiled and playfully ruffled her hair "Glad you like it" I say when she suddenly wrapped her arms around me "Thanks for bringing me here Y/n!" She says as I heard her sniffle, I set my food down and wrapped my arms around her picking her up "Happy I could give you a better life" I say as I rock us back and forth, after a few minutes we went back to eating and watching the show but I noticed Uzi was a lot closer then before. I smiled knowing I had given her a second chance and a better life.
