My Best Friend's Love || Hyunlix

<Prologue>

Eight years ago in Australia (2015)

"So you're really leaving, huh?" Felix asked Hyunjin. The boys were hanging out at Hyunjin's house on the weekend, like always. It had become their habit to go to each other's houses on weekends.

"Unfortunately," Hyunjin answered with a sad face. "My family's business is growing in Korea, so my dad wants us to move there."

"When are you moving?"

"After we graduate middle school," Hyunjin said.

"Wait, that's like in a month!!" Felix exclaimed. The two of them had been best friends since they were five. They had been inseparable ever since. Both of their families are friends as well. Felix can't help but feel sad about the situation.

"I know, but we could still call and video call each other." Hyunjin tried to reassure the younger one. "We would still be best friends wherever we go."

Felix and Hyunjin met when they were five.  The Hwangs and The Lees were neighbors in Australia. When the Hwangs moved next door to the Lees, both families became close.

One month later

Felix and Hyunjin graduated from Middle school. They were glad that they had graduated already and were ready to go on to high school; however, they were dreading the day that Hyunjin had to move out of the country.

"What am I supposed to do when you're not here?" Felix complained.

Hyunjin chuckled, "You could hang out with Jisung and Chan. Plus, we're still going to talk daily on the phone." Hyunjin was not thrilled to move away also. If he had a choice, he would stay in Australia with Felix.

Felix and Hyunjin promised each other to contact each other every day and that they will visit each other every summer.

Hyunjin left for South Korea with his parents and his siblings. He promised Felix that he would contact him every day. It was time for him to leave the love of his life behind... For now.

Five years ago in Australia (2018)

"Hey," Felix said while on FaceTime with Hyunjin.

"Hey, Lixie!" Hyunjin answered excitedly. "I miss you!"

"I miss you, too, Jinnie!" Felix replied. "I have a surprise for you!"

"What is it?" Hyunjin furrowed his eyebrows.

"You'll find out soon enough!" Felix teased the other.

"Really, Lix?"

"Yup! You'll find out soon enough... Anyway... I have to go. My mom wants me to do something."

"Ok, Lix! I'll talk to you later!"

Felix disconnected the call. "I will see you soon, Jinnie!" Felix whispered to himself. He can't wait to see his best friend.

Felix was lying down on his bed when Jisung entered the room. "So, did you pack your bags yet?" Jisung asked while jumping on Felix's bed.

"Yes, Sungie... Did you?" Felix asked back.

"Yup, everything is ready for our flight tomorrow!"

"I can't believe Mom and Dad agreed for us to move to Korea for college," Felix said.

"I know! I'm surprised as well."

"FELIX! JISUNG!" Their mom yelled from downstairs. "Come down here for a second, please."
