(The chapter name is because my friend (who is an asshole) thinks she can make longer chapters than me, and so thinks she's better than me, so I am here to prove her wrong.)

Higuchi got a hotel room for the night and went to sleep, but Gin had started to get very concerned about her, since she had been gone for so long. She just figured that Higuchi would come back in a little bit since she's sick, but she's been gone for hours now. Gin decided the best idea was to ask around if anybody had seen her. OBVIOUSLY nobody in the port mafia could know that she had lost the person she was supposed to be taking care of. So the first person she thought of to ask was Dazai, since she had his phone number because of her brother that is clearly gay for the man(He's obsessed with like 3 different men, he's CLEARLY gayer than the pride flag).
"Hello hellooo~ if it isn't Gin, how can I help you on this lovely night?" Said the annoying bandaged man from the other side of the phone.
"Have you seen Higuchi anywhere? I've been looking for her and I was wondering if you knew where she was." Gin was (of course) speaking in binary code to know for sure that it was Dazai, and also because she didn't like her voice very much.
"Why yes acktually, I saw her just a while ago. I'm fairly certain she got lost and went to the hotel downtown. Good luck finding her~" he hung up. Gin headed that way, in hopes that Higuchi hadn't fallen asleep yet. But of course, by the time she got there, Higuchi had already fallen asleep. She quickly did a very EASY mathematical equation to not only figure out the best way to enter the room, but also how to unlock the window and get into it. Once she had gotten inside she scooped Higuchi up like a princess. Honestly, if Higuchi woke up then, Gin would probably die of embarrassment. But she didn't.

When Gin and Higuchi got home, Gin placed Higuchi carefully onto the bed and tucked her in. She wanted to make her a nice dinner but it was way to late so she just heated up some leftovers for her instead. Gin went back to Higuchi's side and gently shook her until she woke up. "Higuchi, there's food in the kitchen. Come over when you're fully awake," Gin explained. Higuchi got up at the mention of food and held onto Gin as they walked to the kitchen together. Gin served her a plate of clear soup with water. Higuchi had trouble eating it herself since she was half asleep and sick. "Giiiiin, will you feed me?" Higuchi asked, even though she was not able to comprehend what she had just said herself. "Sure." Gin replied to this quote calmly, but of course on the inside she was panicking, not knowing whether she should actually feed her and fulfill her romantic dream or to just leave her be. But she had already replied to her question, so now she had to feed her. Gin got up and walked over to Higuchi, each step she took made her heartbeat sound louder and louder. So loud that she felt like her eardrums were going to burst. She picked up the spoon and scooped up some soup, but she wasn't paying attention to the soup. Not at all in fact, she was just looking at Higuchi's shear beauty. How could she look so pretty, even while she was sick. Her eyes looked so much more dulled than usual, but they made Gin's shine brighter.
"GIIIIIINNN!" Higuchi interrupted Gin's thoughts with her voice. "Are you going to feed me or not?" Gin noticed the way her voice pitched up a little at the end, she sounded a little drunk but that's just how she sounded when she was sick. "I'm so sorry," Gin finally stopped thinking and stuck the spoon in Higuchi's mouth. "You know for leftovers, this is pretty good." Higuchi said in a drinks tone, "You'd be a great wife!" At this remark Gin started to grow red. She didn't know how higuchi could say something so embarrassing like that even if she was sick. However flustered Gin was, she still felt an urge so strong to reply to her statement in a very bold way, hoping she'd take the hint and ask her out, and if she wasn't interested she could just say that it was probably a fever dream. Of course Gin felt a little bad for manipulating Higuchi's sickness to her advantage but she stilled worked up the courage to say, "Is that your way of asking me out?" The words she said had made her feel very foolish for even expecting Higuchi to feel the same way, even so, she got her reply. "Sure!" Higuchi said confidently. "But can I finish eating first?" "Yeah." Gin said casually. Why was she acting so normal about everything? Well, she's used to hiding her emotions from everybody, and she honestly felt as if she had blown an embarrassment fuse. She could no longer feel more embarrassed than this moment, so she just stopped being embarrassed. And she could barely even believe what Higuchi said, I mean, how could anyone want to date her? She barely talks, she is usually rude to anyone who gets on her nerves or tries to control her, she was in the mafia and had killed multiple people, no one even knows what she likes or anything else about her because of how little she enjoys social interaction. She was basically the worst friend ever, so how could anyone what to be something more than a friend with HER. Gin thought Higuchi must've been confused and decided to try again tomorrow. "Let's go to bed after you're finished eating" Gin said to break the silence she created by overthinking. "Alrighty" Higuchi replied with her usual thoughtless expression that made Gin feel so warm and fuzzy.

Gin took Higuchi back to bed and tucked her in. "Gin, can you tell me a story?" Higuchi said in that same tone that flustered Gin so much. "Sure" Gin responded to her strange request. "There was once a Scorpion who needed to cross a river. Scorpions can't swim so he had to find another way across. He saw a Frog and asked him if he could ride on his back across the river. The Frog replied, 'But you're just going to sting me' to this the Scorpion said, 'But if I sting you, I'll just drown too, and we'll both die.' The Frog agreed to this. Half way across the river, the Frog felt a prick on his back. The Scorpion had stung him. They both drowned but the Scorpion could hold its breath for a long time, so it only suffered longer. The end" "That was a sad story." Higuchi said woefully. "That is true, but I like it because it teaches that bad people are still bad, even if the things they do would have horrible consequences for them," Gin claimed, she clearly liked the story so Higuchi had to agree with her. However, Higuchi was quite disappointed with the story, sad stories don't feel right to go to sleep to, so she asked, "Can you sing me a lullaby?" Gin was surprised she had been asked to sing, but she thought it might be fun, and she'd do anything to help Higuchi sleep better. "Alright" she said finally, "Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall, Humpty Dumpty had a great fall, all the king's horses and all the king's men, couldn't put Humpty together again." Gin's angelic voice made Higuchi a bit sleepy, but the song was so unsettling. "Uhm... why did you choose that song?" Higuchi inquired a little bit nervous. "I like that song because it reminds me of Dazai a little bit. I'd be so happy if I never had to hear about him again, he's really annoying. But... I guess I would miss his antics a little." Gin replied happily. Higuchi is scared what Gin will do next, so she choose the most obvious solution to her problem. "Gin, will you lay down next to me?" Gin turned red at this request. 'Honestly, what is higuchi thinking? Is she trying to kill me?' Either way, Gin laid down next to Higuchi. Higuchi pulled Gin closer, flustering Gin even more than before. Just before Higuchi could fall asleep she said, "Goodnight Gin." So Gin replied with "Goodnight Higuchi."
