I missed you (Higugin Higuchi X Gin)

Part 7 AAAAAAA NOOOO

Dazai, still at the bar at midnight, changed the name for Higuchi on his cellphone. He hadn't set it as anything before, but now he put it as "Gin <33" knowing that he is only acquainted with one person named gin and that he definitely did not like her romantically. It would also help him remember who he was setting Higuchi up with. Let's just hope nobody misunderstands it.

Higuchi woke up the next morning and took the medicine Dazai gave her. She fixed a quick breakfast, ate it, then left for work after taking a shower. She made sure to separate Gin's clothes from her usual ones. When she arrived at work, Akutagawa had something to speak to her about in private. "What exactly happened before I walked in on you two??" He asked determined to know. So Higuchi responded with,"Gin had just laid down next to me and we fell asleep like that. And when we woke up we were talking about things." She felt proud of her words and the way they avoided anything that might be taken out of context. "Do you love my sister? Romantically, that is?" He inquired. "N-NO! I don't like her like that." She felt bad for lying but she had to. "I don't really mind if you do, just take care of her, okay." Akutagawa exited the room after delivering his opinion. Of course he knew his sister liked her, so he had to tell Higuchi that it's okay. He also wanted to clear up any misunderstandings. Where was Gin anyways?

Dazai was back at the agency in the morning. He was about to start texting Higuchi again out of boredom, but Kunikida took his phone just as he was reaching for it. "Are you slacking off again? If you want to die, then this would be a very bad time to do so. We're very busy right now and think about all the money we'll be making." Kunikida shouted at Dazai. At the thought of money Atsushi started working harder than before. Kunikida opened up Dazai's phone and look at the messages from before. The name for one of the users had changed. "DAZAI! ARE YOU FLIRTING WITH SOMEONE INSTEAD OF WORKING! AND IT'S SOMEONE IN THE MAFIA TOO!I JUST CAN'T BELIEVE YOU!!" Kunikida had been rambling on for quite some time now before Dazai had attempted to explain, "Ah, you see that is actually my fri-" "I DON'T CARE FOR YOUR EXCUSES! AND IF THIS IS WHO IS DISTRACTING YOU, THEN I'LL TAKE CARE OF THEM ONCE AND FOR ALL!!" Kunikida stormed out even thought everyone tried to calm him down. Dazai figured he'd just tell Gin that she needs to stop texting him and go away with a threat. But Gin was a part of the Port Mafia, he might try to fight her off or actually go on with whatever threats he might have. But he probably wouldn't do that, well he was pretty angry, but probably not.

Gin was walking to her next mission when she heard someone. She walked over to see what all the ruckus was about, it was just Kunikida. But, she didn't know that, to her, he was just one of those detectives the mafia's at war with. He approached he swiftly and took out a gun. She jolted away from him, and was reaching for her knife when he shot. Bang. The loud noise rung through her ears. She didn't know what to do or say. Gin fell to the floor passed out, and Kunikida realized he had shot someone. Luckily for him, nobody else was around, but he could've killed her if he wasn't careful. Wait. Did he kill her. He checked her pulse, it was a bit weak from the sudden faint, but it was there. He grabbed her phone and dialed a number on there and said nothing as to not get into more trouble. He ran back to the agency before anyone could see him. He felt very ashamed about what he did. His own anger had blinded him. He could only hope for the best for her.

Gin was hospitalized soon after, Hirotsu was the one that got called. He was one of the most experienced mafiosos there so it was good that he was called. Akutagawa heard about his sister's hospitalization and rushed to see her. When he got there he asked who hurt her. Gin replied, "Some blond detective from the agency." Her reply was weak and withered, it broke Akutagawa to see his sister like this. He ran over to the Armed Detective Agency and slammed open the door. He quickly used his Rashomon to take a stab at Kunikida, but he dodged it. From this surprising event, Dazai concluded that Kunikida was an idiot and did something bad to Gin. Atsushi angrily attacked back at him and they broke out into a fight. Dazai walked over to calm them down, thankfully for him, Akutagawa looks up to Dazai, and Atsushi didn't really want to fight, he just did it in self defense. Dazai leans into Akutagawa's ear and says, "You should go buy Gin a present and check on her. She is probably wondering where you've gone." To this, Akutagawa runs out of the agency, even quicker than he entered. Dazai told Atsushi to be nice to him for now, even if he is rude sometimes. Everyone got back to work, even Dazai. Not even he could goof off when that had just happened. Poor Gin.
