At any point, if I use "A/n" when it's on the story, it means aunts name, not authors note btw
Slow chapter bbs sorry but bear with me for the rest of the story 🤭

You walked into seijos gym after school and sat down on the bench. You set down your bag next to you and took out your phone. After a couple minutes you saw some of the players walk out into the gym with uniforms on.

One of the first to walk out was Iwaizumi. While walking to the middle of the gym where the younger players were beginning to warm up, he turned his head in your direction and walked over.

"Iwaizumi hi! I'm not quite sure how the system here would you mind explaining? I don't know how much it differs from my old school."

"I'm not sure of all the little details, but I'm pretty sure you have some similarities to me and the captain, like making sure we all properly warm up and setting up equipment. The manager usually also helps with players if they get any minor injuries that just require some taping or ice."

You smiled with relief. "That sounds easy enough."

"I'm pretty sure you do some background stuff like helping the coach plan practice matches and special team days, but that part I'm not so sure about that. Coach doesn't watch practice every day, but if he does come it'll be around four, he'll brief you then."

Iwaizumi turned and started dating each players name and position. You typed everything he said in a note on your phone.

One guy with one of the lower numbers was a first year who took the same bus as you. You remembered how you thought no one could be as sleep deprived as you until you saw this kid.
Kunimi, spiker

You also recognized the strawberry blond who gave you a pretty horrible worded observation when you first approached him.
Hanamaki, spiker

Then there was the guy with the spiky hair and bushy eyebrows in your class, the one who always sat beside Iwaizumi.
Matsukawa, middle blocker

Iawaizumi was interrupted by a brunette jogging up to him. He quickly looked at you then back to his friend.

"This is y/n?"

"Yes," you said before Iwaizumi could respond on your behalf.

"Coach told me to run her through her job, he's not going to be here today."

"Great, I could only give her a general description of it." Iwaizumi jogged away leaving you with the captain.

Something was wrong.

"Hey I'm tooru oikawa, the captain. Nice to meet you." He smiled and held out his hand.

You awkwardly took it and shook it. It wasn't much that threw you off, just the way that he spoke to his friend as if you weren't there then turned on the charm once he left.

He talked you through the job, pointed out where the managing and training equipment was, the timeline you'd have to follow on a regular practice day. Oikawa told you that most of the time you could just sit there and do other things, which was nice.

He tried making casual small talk in between showing you what to do. You kept your answers short and simple. He didn't really pry, he just tried to keeping the conversation flowing.

You helped him set up the nets and watched him decide his team into groups for drills.

"I can tell you about each persons weaknesses and strengths, but you should also observe them to help with strategy and dividing practice like this. I can add you to the team group chats, and coach said to give you the team management email accounts and passwords."
